Got some spring maintenance done yesterday.

I have a tech that became an Amsoil dealer so I’m giving it a go this time.

Also, got around to installing my AG battery. 3D printed battery hold down from @KevinMar came out nice.
Looks good. Used Kevin's file as well and it's held up great. Fitment was spot on.

Looked at again today sitting in the garage. 60 degrees and sunny today, but not enough rain to wash away the sale and winter debris on the road. Snow in the forecast for Thursday and Sunday. Ugh....

I am still on the fence about the silver wheels on a GT350.
I have always disliked black wheels because they hide the shape of the wheel... it's just a round black blob. But for some reason, silver wheels make it look like something other than a GT350.
Both look great @sox3 , but I don't know which I like better?
I was always thinking somewhere in the middle, like a gunmetal color.
But I have resided to just live with the black.
My Bronco wheels are black but have a silver bead lock ring.
That breaks up the complete black blob.

I just ordered a Ranger Raptor that will have black wheels with a gunmetal bead lock ring.
Not mine, but the same build:

Black wheels, but the trim rings break up the black blob again.

I hate the indecision on the Shelby wheels for me... it's kinda like Ginger or Mary-Ann.
Not to dig up an old thread on the discussion on black wheels/tires.... but I was watching "CARS" the other day and came across this scene... LOL..

Timely! I just swapped in some BC Forged in gloss bright graphite grey. Not a great pic. Just a quick driveway snap. I actually have another thread going that I need to update as far as fitment specs and specific pics of fender to tire fitment.

Installed new front splitter and steering wheel! Did it myself and proud. Previous owners did not take care of the wheel, such a transformation to have nice alcantara. Front splitter definitely took some finagling. Car will be dropped off for Vorshlag camber plates and MGW shifter next week.

Today, I used my girlfriend's hair dryer (one of several) to de-carbonify the GT350. I took off the covers on the side view mirror and the door handles.

My concern was that they were holding water and causing unnecessary corrosion risk. Upon removal, it tentatively appears that is not the case, thankfully.

However, good GOD these things were stuck on! Kudos to the prior owner who installed. It took at lot of work and I'm just hoping I installed as few scratches in the process.

For the side view mirror covers: they were starting to look kinda ratty due to sun/age so I'm glad to see them go.

For the door handles: I actually didn't hate these. If I knew they weren't causing corrosion issues like I know now, I maybe would have left them on.

Both fit SUPER well. Maybe 3D printed? Unclear. Below is a pic of the label on the inside of the door handle pieces 🤷🏼‍♂️

I only cleaned the gunk off the driver door handle. So, NEXT PROJECT before going out in public is cleaning up the rest of it 😂

Looks great! How did the steering wheel install go? Was thinking about doing that on my 18.

There is a GREAT video on YouTube from cjponyparts that I watched a couple of times. Just make sure you have the correct tools and you’ll be good. You’ll need a 24 mm socket for the wheel bolt and Star bits for the wheel buttons. Unplug battery before starting.

Very straightforward install and took no time at all. I bought the wheel from American muscle and it’s OEM, great quality. Highly recommend! I’m mechanically challenged too.

LMAO, this is exactly me and why I typically don’t do stuff like this. The splitter required a 7 MM spanner for a really tight fit and of course I didn’t have it. First trip to ace. Then another for star bits when I got to steering wheel.

Don’t even get me started on how long it took me to replace the coolant tank due to the damn clamps on the hoses. I now realize they make a tool for those. I was using PLIERS, had bloody hands and coolant everywhere.

yes, the hose clamp tool is amazing! I used it when replacing my plastic coolant tank... still spilled a bunch of coolant down into the lower underbelly pan. Bill makes it look "SO EASY"

Bill has done a ton of videos. Good reference for jobs. No longer with them. Got to meet him at a show.

Cleaned up all the adhesive. I got about 99% of it, hoping the rest comes off in the regular wash. Either way, I can drive it now!

Definitely some damage to the underlying black paint but hey, they're side - view mirrors . . . They can always be replaced. I may actually try my hand at polishing them up and/or applying some PPF to them . . .

Goo gone got the job done but man I wish I had found a rubber wheel attachment for a drill. 3 stores and none had one!

Next time if there is one, use 3m adhesive remover. Made specifically for this and works very well.
