Greetings!

I have run into a snag and am hoping for some advice…. I have a 2016 GT currently running squared 20x10 SVE wheels and a 275/40/20 tire. I also have the factory Perf. Pack staggered set with all season tires.

I have run the 20” wheels for autocross with Firestone Indy tires. They are just okay, so I picked up a set of used 18x10.5 HRE wheels with Nitto NT01 305/35/18 from a 2013 GT500. The issue is I can fit the 18” HRE’s on the rear just fine, however the front is a whole other issue. I have to run a 1” spacer to fit them and not hit the coilovers. Unfortunately, that then makes the wheel poke on the front beyond the fender about an inch.

So…..do I see if a 285 tire on the 18’s work for the front? Or is that 10.5 wide rim with a 1” spacer just too much. Do I sell them and get better tires for the 20’s, or do I get some better track tires for the heavy perf. pack 19’s? Do I scrap the whole thing and get the right offset, etc?

Any advice is appreciated!!

Unfortunately I’m not exactly sure on the offset. The person I purchased them from wasn’t sure either. I initially checked the back of the wheel, but it didn’t stand out. I’ll check again

If you can’t find it on the inside of the wheel then Google; How to Measure Wheel Offset. There are a bunch of tutorials on how to do it. It’s not difficult to do.

It looks like it may be “48”, but it doesn’t specify “ET” or a +\-.

Thanks for the responses. I don’t mind using the 19” factory wheels, but they are just heavy and the fronts are narrow

I think I’m going to try an 20mm spacer and see if that works. Any chance a 285 tire would help? I don’t currently have camber plates, but that could be an option too

I’m running OEM gt350 wheels on my 17 GT. I initially had 295/35s on the front and it was hitting the coilover. When I was in springs alone I was just using a camber bolt and that was fine. With the coilovers though it was not. I had to go to a 285/30 in the front leaving the camber bolt and using the upper plates to adjust camber and leave clearance. My off set is 30 upfront and 62 in the rear. The point of all this. Try a camber bolt to push the top of the wheel out and use the plate to bring it back in if need be. It worked for me.

Looks like I’m going to have to play around with adjustments a bit. I figured since they came off an s197, it wouldn’t have been too much of an issue, but the offset definitely is

Any other ideas? I haven’t had time yet to pull things apart to try a smaller spacer, nor mount narrower tires. Just hoping someone may have similar size wheels and offset that worked for them??

If the wheel is not hitting the strut, then you may be able to get by with a tire with a smaller section width. Unfortunately the only way to know is to mount the tire to the wheel and bolt it to the car, and of course then you cannot return the tire.

It's all in what the combination of the width and backspacing is for your wheel. If the number is wrong then things will rub on the strut, or poke too far.

My wheels are 18x11 with an ET of 52, and I am running a 315/30/18 tire. It's close to the strut, but there's clearance. Not much, but enough. This is with a 25mm front spacer.

That’s crazy that you are able to get a 315 up front. I assume your ride height isn’t too low?
