I was too lazy to clean the air filter but I eventually will - S&B offers a nice cleaning kit - so I just bought a new one. I also installed a phallic-style shift knob. The round OEM knob is just somewhat small and a little tougher to get a good grasp on. Never really liked it, and a bunch of the other options sucked, so I bought a GT350 wannabe knob.

Was able to get the wheels mounted and take the car for a short drive. Behaves much differently. Excited to get it out to a more controlled environment where I can push it a bit more.

Center caps are verboten in any kind of track event, but I hate the aesthetics of wheels without them, so I had to come up with a way to pull the caps without taking the wheels off. They're pretty hard to remove via prying, without risking damaging the wheel finish.

So I sewed up some ribbon, and put behind the cap and around the snap ring, so all I need to do is grab and pull the small tail sticking out, and the cap pops off.

Knock yourself out, wasn't my idea anyways. A friend came up with it.

Hauled the wheels to Discount Tire and they installed tires for me. 315/30/18 Falken Azenis RT660+, there were a couple of choices I preferred but the budget is the budget.

A very small caliper mod. I originally was going to powder coat or paint all 4, then decided there wasn't enough benefit compared to the effort involved. Of course the stickers were not a match size-wise so they're 3D stickers now. Derp. Whatever. Can't tell from 10 feet away.

Where did you get those Brembo stickers?

Not a lot going on, been gone on vacation. While I was gone these pedal covers arrived from Sullivan. They have lots of choices. Mainly I am just wanting to improve grip on the brake pedal and give my dead foot a little more sure grip. They were a little bit of a pain. When you pull the OEM pedal pads, Ford does not give you a lot of meat to drill the holes, but I managed.

My paper towels didn't get it all, so I'll need to get the vacuum out.

I think I am going to add a foot plate to protect the carpet too, because floor mats are prohibited at my local autocross events.

I did my first Autocross event today.

This is put on yearly by our local club as a "school" of sorts for those who have no experience, basically goes through everything you'd run into during an event, explains things like gridding, track walks, working on your off heats, etc. I found it informative and helpful.

Boosted Mustang blows for autocross. Wheel spin, and 35 degree temps + Super 200s = not awesome results. But, I had fun and plan to continue. I did improve my times throughout the day, but off pace. I will need to decide if I want to work on controlling the power more/better or just yanking the blower off. Of course, more seat time will help too.

Also just read through this whole thread. Nice amount of mods and fabrication when necessary. What's the offset on those Apex wheels? That is super close to the strut 😬

I also wouldn't mind doing an AutoX event again. Been over 20 years since I first tried it in a Miata and was immediately sold.

Wheels are 19x11 ET52.

Using a 25mm spacer in front.

Close is still not touching. 😁

I’ve always disliked the aesthetics of mudflaps and this is no exception, but it’s clear that the wider tires are beating up my rockers.

Rokbloxz are a nice product. Fit is good and the hardware is nice.

I will probably leave the rears off as I have PPF on the lower rear quarters.
