Beautiful day here so my fellow GT350 buddy and I took a drive to meet another friend from out of town for lunch. Great time and a nice drive. Weather was perfect.

I got my new to me 2020 GT350 delivered, in horribly dusty and dirty condition. No fault of the PO, just a horrible shipping company..don't ever use RPM.

Now to clean it and get it ready for the summer!

Finished cleaning the stones from the rear diffuser, fender liners then reinstalled.
Put the CF wheels back on with the new titanium lug nuts that my wife got me for Christmas.
Had car inspected for upcoming HPDE at Mid-Ohio.
Before eclipse and during eclipse pics, nothing happened to the car

Got the GT350 out for the first cruise since buying it back in November and then dinner. Finally the weather was good and the roads were clean of salt. Was a great way to celebrate 35 years of marriage with my bride. She's also impressed with its performance. I will for sure need to try to behave myself with this beast, which won't be easy.

Cleaned the car up for a Cars and Coffee event. Wife and I have been redoing the garage and finished up one side. Hung up a little bling. Disregard the wire. Staples for the door wiring are on the way lol.

Decided to go on a dual personality drive - feels like every time I take her out, I’m all over her. Wanted to change it up…spent first half of drive on some windy back roads, pushing, and it was as glorious as ever. Then hit a nice long stretch of road on a peninsula near me with water on both sides, 30 mph speed limit, valves closed, comfort steering, normal suspension, and radio on…20 mins of low key relaxed driving. I must admit, this car gets an A+ in the dual personality department. That’s a really hard feat to achieve and was nice to have my first low key drive in her. This thing is magic…

Finally got it out of hibernation. Delayed due to the debacle of painting the calipers. Took it in and got the glass tinted by a local shop recommended by a friend. Completely professional and excellent results. 50% all around.

Could you share what went south with the caliper painting to maybe help others avoid mistakes?

Regarding painting the calipers. I decided that to do the best possible job, I would remove all 4 calipers and prep them. Based off of folks here and other places recommending the G2 product, that is what I went with. On their site, they sell sprayers for use with their products. Since I was going to be spraying, I set up a booth and hung the calipers to spray them. After mixing the product and waiting required time, I attempted to spray. Nothing. A small amount of splatter. I attempted to call the company for suggestions, but there is no customer service line.
Since the paint was already mixed, there is a limited working time. I grabbed the only brush available, the largest from the kit, which is tiny. Holding paint, brush, and keeping the calipers from swinging was a losing proposition. I got two coats on, kinda.
I had purchased two kits. So, I sent the company an email to see if they had hints for successfully spraying their product. I asked if it could be thinned to work better in the sprayer they sold me. Their response was that the product cannot be thinned, and is meant to be brushed.
I set up a work bench to paint on. Got an appropriately sized brush and used the second kit to apply additional coats.
If I do a caliper painting project in the future, I will be using a different product.

More like "what did I do with my GT350 today" but I thought this would fit here. I am refinancing and interestingly, my 2019's sticker price was $64,900 and today the car was valued at $62,700. And that's with 16K miles. The thing's doing better than most of my investments!!

Installed the Billetworkz GT350 weighted shift knob. Bought the car with the clearly fake carbon fiber plastic ball (which to be honest I didn't totally hate, felt and performed fine and at least matches the carbon fiber theme the previous owner had going on).

Love the way it feels. May be seated just a bit too low but it's just hand-tight for now. Reverse lockout still works just fine.

Ended the day with the old Italian tune-up and some extended high-rev driving because she hasn't gotten any all week.

I think that might be the Ford Performance (real) carbon fibre shift knob ?

I don’t know if they do them for the 350, but maybe the thread was adapted if they don’t ?

I researched it - sounded like the original versions had a single o ring that leaked slightly on some people, then they upgraded the design to double o ring and haven’t heard any problems since. No rain here, $50 part and an easy swap next oil change if I notice anything at all. I didn’t get the one that has the valve…just the standard plug. But I hear your point, just something about that cheap little plug was bothering me…

Have to agree with this concern. I replaced my oil plug thinking I was upgrading and ended up blasting it out of the oil pan (despite being safety wired) and requiring a new oil pan. Expensive lesson - stick with OEM or similar plastic. Aftermarket metal expands at a different rate under heat than the plastic and the higher weight under vibration ends up causing problems.
