I like to disassemble things.
Raise the motor or transmission? No. Tip the rear of the transmission down via lowering or removing the transmission crossmember? Yes. Allows for more room for your hands.

Nice thread, thanks!

Blame imgur for the picture issues. They're aggressively blocking sites that have classifieds sections because "you're using our servers to make money"

Do you have to raise the motor or tranny as MGW does at the factory for install? If not, why does MGW lift either the motor or tranny to install the shifter and you didnā€™t? Looks great.
you remove the transmission support brace allow the transmission to "sag" down a bit and support it with your floor jack. I'd it it lowers it 6 inches or so. four bolts, very straightforward. Follow the video and you're good to go:

You say that because you haven't tried it. Its the shifter that belongs with that Tremec..

The GT350 needs it less than say, a regular GT, but it's a fantastic product.
More like "that's all there is to a shifter swap?" Yes!
Exactly. :headbang:

Another thing I saw folks mentioning was a that there wasn't enough loctite. I had more than enough! Enough if not, its just standard BLUE found at any parts store.
Nice post and pics madlag

I was the one who warned you about the loctite. I think if I got the tube you showed a pic of, I would have had enough. I got a smallish ā€˜ketchupā€™ sized squeeze packet that probably could have been enough if I hadnā€™t been so paranoid about vibration:D.

I got my shifter for Xmas so maybe MGW upsized what they send w the shifter.

having a skinny arm or a friend definately helps get that front bolt out

did my non GT350 MGW on jackstands in 3 hours taking my time and this is before they came out with the new design that cuts the time in half

easily the best mod to the car, you interact with it 100% of the time driving the car unlike most mods.

ah yes! I thought about you each time I used the little tube lolol. You're right though, any less (like from the little packet) and I wouldn't have had enough.

I agree with this. The more I drive it, the more I appreciate the change.

I've never ever installed a shifter in something where it wasn't a great mod and well worth any expense or effort. As good as the stock shifter is on this car in comparison, I'm still excited. Going in sometime this week/end.

Mark where tranny mount bracket is before you loosen it, it won't go back to the same spot without a little push. Helps prevent NVH
