So I installed a stage 2 Procharger kit and the head temperatures went up quite a bit.

Previously on a hot day I would see 207 degrees max and that would be for only a few minutes if I drove hard. Now, after Procharger I have seen as high as 223 degrees. I have burped the system and cant seem to figure out what the deal is. Is this normal?

The water temp needle looks like it's in the same place it always was. Is there a trick to get these temps down? Has anyone else here ran into this issue?

Thanks for any help!

Whipple now uses 160 thermostats in their kits to combat heat.

I'm sure that the PP radiator helps but I had the 160 degree thermostat and my CHT averaged 210. I swapped the 160 for the Reische and now my CHT stays around 185. Get the Reische 170.

Reische 170 is the way to go on any application, but no doubt that the PP Radio is a huge help as well.

HP = Heat

Any time more power is added, the engine temps will rise a bit, if the cooling system is not modified. However the levels you are talking about are not out of the range of normal by any-means. (actually low compared to some manufactures)

The thermostat can lower the temps, and help you to make a bit more power by lowering the detonation threshold.

So in a nut shell....

Is it needed... no
Is a good addition...yes
