to my knowledge at least on this forum...there hasn't been an issue where something got tore up on the car from the tune... these email tunes aren't really pushing the car to the limits from what I understand... their relatively safe.
True. I guess what I meant is if you have engine problems, the easiest thing for the dealer to blame would be the tune. MagMoss etc... I know.. but you would still have to fight them on it.

Funny you mention, because before I did the axle backs, I had a rattling inside the ginormous resonator - which under warranty - Ford swapped for an entire new exhaust front to back; noise gone, chop chop I went lol.

Other than $$ for the tune, the warranty on the engine is one of my concerns. I just hit 12.5k :)

Hey, nothing wrong with a tune, and you will probably have zero issue with your car because of it. And there are alot of mod friendly dealers out there. My recommendation is to get on a good basis with your service advisor, and when you have oil changes etc, bring in doughnuts etc. Always good to have an ally at the dealer. And I'm sure they appreciate the snacks :D

Yes deffinitely get a tune. I personally recommend Lund tune with a cold air intake. A jms pedalmax would be nice too. And use sport mode

Chad, a good tune is a great bang for the buck mod. Definitely get one and post back your impressions.

it's all in the v8 section in a ton of threads. you'll get alot pro lund around here. I just put steeda on today from the insane pre bf steeda induction power pack deal that was $300+ cheaper than anything with lund attached to it... so far so good.
I cant wait to install my steeda intake and tune:headbang:

I have the GT PP and am on the fence because I read of people that had to change the thermostat. Do the tunes really effect the temps that much?

As far as the tune goes, yes big difference, ,,,,but if you plan on supercharger dont wast your money like I did. Your tuner and CAI are useless if you go with Roush SC. Roush has their own tune and its good, 675 horse good!!! Also to anyone that is worried about warranty issues after words ( I dont work for in any way shape or fourm ) Oliver Ford in Plymouth Indiana will back any tunes, supercharhers or exhaust work done by Brenspeed!!

Use of those people you see with tunes and changing thermostats is based off a recommendation from Lund and many other tuners and performance shops. The tune does not make the engine run hotter. Lund likes to keep cylinder head temps down for better overall performance and safety in the tune and that so no timing gets pulled when pushing the engine hard. He turns the fans on sooner in all of his tunes. So they are ready for the recommended lower thermostat. So if you decide to get a lower thermostat and don't have a Lund tune you will need to get it updated so the fan timing supports it so you can reap the full benefits.

I agree! With my culinder head temps stay around 185 degrees after a Lund tune with 170 thermostat.

What kind of horsepower and torque gains are expected with a bone stock car? I have only had mine a couple of weeks an have done nothing so far.

Is it just me, or are those AF readings on the high side? I'd be a little nervous if that was my daily driver. JMO

well now I'm wondering if I really need one. I haven't got my tuner yet. but if the tstat has to be included in the tune then I guess I better get one, otherwise I can just add it later. pretty sure steeda has tunes for life

I have been contemplating getting a tuner but I don't want to invalidate my warranty. I can just see something happening to the motor and then I'd be S.O.L.
