I had that happen twice in my orange 350z back in 05-06... needless to say, the only two times I've ever been rude to cops. Well rude as in I didn't feel the need to chat with them and I cut it short each time. I was pissed.

Well I carry a Whistler XTR-335 in both my Yukon and my 2015 pony. Lets just say the detector in my pony goes off a lot more than in my Yukon even when driving the speed limit.

Just a curiosity question. As I read a lot of post on mods and what not, I see people always referring to being stopped by cops etc. I can say as a LEO, I love modded cars and always roll my windows down to hear how people's sound etc. I personally don't get two shits how loud, tinted or modded your car is (law wise). I may be the exception though lol :eyebulge:
I wish you were closer to me lol. I always get stopped for my tints.

Cops in Houston, TX are cool except certain areas like Memorial City or if it is a Motorcycle cop you automatically screwed. I got pulled over many times for speeding and a lot of warnings issued but only for 10 over.

...and I was very angry over being harassed by him so I told him that he should go start writing those 10 violations while I call his CO with his name and badge number to file a formal complaint for harassment and he quickly gave me back my license, registration, and insurance card and told me to have a nice day...
This. If you have a good local PD (like we do in Fishers IN), then the supervisor or Chief will want to hear from you. I think the reason they make you wait in their video-secured lobby so long is to check you out. Then when you talk to the big guy he already knows you're a solid citizen and will value your feedback. I love good cops and hate asshole cops. (Probably what they think of us drivers, too.)

I've gone before the judge on a speeding ticket before.

I explained yes I was speeding and the points were tossed out, but I did pay a fine. Judges can do that, at least in my state they can.
I have done this twice. By simply writing a letter directly to the judge, and with a follow-up call. From several states away.

Appear remorseful and respectful, and guilty, and they will keep it off your record. Worth the fine, IMO. The alternative is to pay the fine (or even higher for aggravating the judge) AND have it on your record.

It is the high price for poor judgment and bad luck.

Def seems shady lol! But I also don't write many tickets anymore. I don't get off on costing other people money. But I have seen someone say they were guilty and the judge was mad at the officer and say " in ur plea of guilty I find you not guilty" <--- politics and money right there. I love my mustang, traded a charger in for it. I have always just wondered if other cops jacked with people because they had a fast/nice car.
Good to hear. Thank you for your service.

Do you LEO's compare notes on whether it is tempting to pull over the bright-colored sports car, according to the myth? I have read that the statistics say that it is truly a myth, but then I can't help but wonder if my car screams "Pull me over. Please."

I can say in 12 years I've never paid attention attention to the bright colored sports car. Unless I was thinking it looked badass lol.

Yeah those Moto cops are tricky. I'm glad many of them don't like to hang on the Beltway 8 though (75% of my daily commute). And the speed traps there are pretty chill unless your doing like 20 over or driving like a fool.

Yeah BW8 is Constable territory and if you get pulled over by them, good luck not getting a ticket.

Well to even get their attention, you almost have to be asking for it. You'd have to be hitting 90 mph or 100 mph with lane swerving, in which case, you deserve that ticket lol

Sugarland and 59 is a bad place. They are there randomly with laser guns.

Is that the stretch of 59 inside or outside BW8? Because i drive the stretch of 59 thats between BW8 and I-610 daily and there's never any cops there at all. Traffic is so bad there most times, it's damned near impossible to speed so I guess they don't even bother trying to speed trap it lol
