You know it! Sweet setup for sure!!

I hate mine, too:ford::D
How do you like the Recaro seats? Sometimes I wish that I would have gotten those but I like having A/C seats.

Sales-wise we all know it hasn't disappointed, but performance-wise the reactions have been mixed at best. The first and foremost disappointment was the weight increase. The second, lots of fans were expecting at least 450hp and more torque (the Camaro has 455 ft-lbs). Then, it was motor trend that gave the title to the gen-5 Camaro vs the S550 GTPP in a duo comparison. Now, the Camaro 6 has hit the streets and according to Automobile magazine, "brings the ponywars to a new frontier"
The truth is of all the reviews I've read, the Cam6 surprised almost everyone and the Stang6 disappointed quite a few fans and critics.
I was going to save $$ for the GT350 in 2017, but now that they say it's almost impossible to get (I'm not paying a dollar over sticker) I'll probably have to settle for the S550 GT, but after the comparison to the Cam6, I'm starting to think twice (no, I will never own a Camaro) of owning one soon. Will Ford counterattack sooner than expected? If so, how?
My friend and I were talking about it this way.

The '15 F-150 changed the Truck Wars going forward.
The '16 Camaro changed the Pony Wars going forward.

Ford came out with an amazing car in the S550 in '15 but they really missed some key points. Updated transmission (8 speed at least - yah hush you know who you are), worse MPG, heavier car, lackluster Sync system, tad more tech. Chevy came out swinging and didn't leave anything on the table other then it costing a pretty penny.

Ford will counter with the 10 speed, a digital gauge cluster like the F-150 has, performance exhaust down from the GT350, updated front fascia, lighter aluminum trunk deck/lid and probably magnetic ride brought down also from the GT350.

The only thing you can ask yourself is do you like the design (that's subjective) and the price difference. The Camaro is already performance packed up in the RS/SS trims. Also if you arent ever going to race, do you even need the Camaro SS. Their V6 is a good mid range option but expensive. As for handling, reading the posts from people who have driven both, they are all sorta taken aback about how nimble and light and fast the Camaro feels and compared to the Mustang/Charger they both feel very heavy and large.

Only thing you can do is keep reading reviews and then take them out for a spin and make your decision. You're on a Mustang forum so you probably wont get much non-biased opinions here. Read the mags, read posts and make an informed decision.

I love them.

They feel awesome. I am a person that likes for my seats to grip me every second I am in the car. I am a bigger guy, too. Broad shoulders, wide back. I have no complaints with them at all.

Don't get me wrong guys, i love my car too but i was expecting something similar to the 5th gen vs 6th gen camaro results. When i had my old ls3 camaro i envied the 5 th gen mustang, it was faster, lighter, better interior, better gas milage and better car all around. Had really high hopes for the next gen stang. This doesn't mean the car is not a blast to drive.

I paid 44 g for my car with extended warranty, money is not a problem. In fact if higher price is going to increase the quality, performance and mpg then i am all for it. People will buy it anyways!
Get off your soap box, it's not just about you from multiple aspects.

Ford intent is to make money, never forget that.

It's about the program.

Ford gives Mustang program X dollars, they have to work with that. Including aluminum doors, or other weight saves now may have been pushed to a MCA to pay for the front suspension redesign, retooling, a sourcing. I don't know for sure. I can tell you from other OEM clients with other vehicles this thing happens all the time. Just not enough budget to get everything you want. The Camaro is riding on Cadillacs bill.

Regardless of its added weight, the S550 is faster than any S197 on a road course (ECR)...That's what they said....

Made a little change and bolded, yes the GTPP is faster than any SN197 for ECR, that includes the BOSS, BOSS LS, GT500.

That means the total car has eclipsed the previous version.

This is an amusing thread...

The nice thing about owning any vehicle...you always trade or sell it...if doesn't meet your expectations...

Sure they could have then you would have been but hurt about the price, and the Mustang has always been the better performance bargain and doesn't share the advantages of platform flexing. The front suspension change was an un intended program change which effects many aspects of prorgram funding, and its life cycle. I read through these and other threads and its clear many have any clue how cars are built. The S550 cake was baked long ago.
So much this.

You can't make significant changes in the automotive world in less than 2 years (and even that's pushing it). Everyone thinks the Coyote was in response to the MY2010 Camaro. Uh, no. They started concepting the Coyote in 2007 and spent 2008-2009 doing all the prototyping, development and iterative design that is required to develop a GOOD product. They spent most of 2010 readying it for launch in my MY2011 Mustang. Ford didn't know what the HP of the 5th Gen Camaro would be. They had their best guess back in 2008/2009, and they didn't change their target at the 11th hour in response, just like they won't now.

If you all don't think Ford has plans to reduce weight, increase power and fuel economy, among other included niceties in the mid-cycle refresh (probably MY2018), you're being blind. But they won't throw something out there for 2017 just because of the Camaro. It takes time and money to do it right.

So does anyone have any pre order numbers of the 6th gen to compare it to the 5th gen or the Mustang 6g? that can give you some indication of what to expect. This car is gonna flop and be MIA in 2020. I just don't see the Camaro doing anything sales wise compared to this new Mustang. Whats gonna happen to the Camrao when Ford Ups the power even more? Gm is tripping over their own toes and is gonna cost them vette sales or increase vette sales and lower Camaro sales.
Get your popcorn ready and just watch the sales for the next 12 months. Cadillac ATS and CTS are way off sales estimates due to price, this new Camaro is no different.
GM hasn't had enough time away from bankruptcy to sell their cars at a higher Msrp because people don't trust them.
