I live in New Jersey where the mere mention of a fire arm will get you 3-5. So ummm no comment.:D
I never could understand how anyone lives there. It can't be because of Snookie.

Personally, I wish the sunglasses compartment were big enough for a J-frame revolver.
It does fit my NAA Pug quite nicely though. I carry a model 60 3 inch in an IWB cross draw rig, or a Sig 239. Depends on the weather.

I like the thought of the med kit, bug out bag, and AR in the trunk. I do wonder what a LEO would have to say about it though if they found it.
Depends on your state. It's legal in VA. I haven't been pulled over since I started my collection, but I will be very careful to present the info to LEO that I do have a CCW and have gun(s) in the car. It's all about tact.

How do you keep the kids away from a gun that stays in the car?
You teach your kids to respect guns. They want what they can't have, so if they have the lessons and respect, it shouldn't be an issue. I've seen kids as young as 5y.o. at the gun ranges, shooting better than me. Respect and knowledge are key.

^This. We always had firearms around at our house growing up and from a young boy I was taught A) a gun is ALWAYS loaded, and B)a gun is ALWAYS loaded and C)Do not touch them without permission.

I carry my Springfield XDM.45C IWB appendix style with a couple extra mags in the glovebox just incase. If I have to leave it in the car I have a lockbox tethered to the passenger chair or sometimes lock it in the "owners manual" compartment in the glovebox. When I carry the Wilson Combat 1911 it goes at 4 o clock. Would be a PITA to draw if needed so I don't carry that one much. I am planning on getting a G-Code Holsters sticky mount for the car once I purchase their tactical OTWB holsters so I don't have to wear it in the car and it's easier to access.

Sphinx SDP 9mm or M&P Shield 9mm at 4 o'clock ITWB. I don't leave guns in my cars.
I try not to leave mine in the car either but certain situations like going to the gym I'd rather have it in the car than at home. And im not trying to pack while Im running or lifting lol. I can't imagine leaving my AR in the trunk like someone said. Id be so paranoid it'd get stolen.

I would say go for it. Keep the AR cased and we will have no problems. :D

I carry either a walther pps/ppq/ or glock 22 all in a holster. My guns NEVER get left in an unattended vehicle.

Interested to see how this works out for you. I like the concept but want too see how it could be done in the S550 interior.

This thread is awesome.

Come to think of it, I wonder if I couldn't make a hook-and-loop setup for the back of the passenger seat (I have CoverKing seat covers which may take to H&L better than the factory fabric). Then I could pretty comfortably stow a small shotgun back there, too.

Realistically I'll likely just live with the 10mm in the console. I usually have another carry gun on me, so that one just sits there locked away.
