Hey everyone, I'm in need of some opinions .
I'm getting a large bonus in December and am getting the supercharged bug. Can anyone with xp let me know some pros and cons of going FI. My car is a gt pp and my daily driver. Looking for info on long term issues with supercharging like added maintenance needed, supporting mods etc..also long term effects on powertrain.

I have the same car & had the dealer installed Roush. I love it. If you are going to race it or ride it hard then this is what you will need added with the cost in mind. Day one after install I ran it it hard and clutch started slipping. So I went with McLeod RST Twin Disc Clutch Kit 800hp 23 Spline for 2011-2015 Mustang GT, Driveshaft Shop 2015 Mustang GT Manual Carbon Fiber 1 Piece 3.5" Driveshaft,Driveshaft Shop 2015 Mustang Axle Set 800HP Direct Fit Pair. So all in installed and I have over 75 runs with slicks and no issues. Its not my daily driver but I drive it 1/3 of the times. 2nd point is don't run anything smaller then 28inch tall tires or it will break lose threw 1st, 2nd & 3rd gear. It is a blast to drive and completely streetable.

Going the roush route, we're you able to keep your powertrain warranty since the dealer installed?

I guess yes but its all replaced with better stuff. They said the clutch is not a warranty item.

best 7.5 in the 8th, 1.7 60 @ 93 miles
if I take it easy on the launch then 7.8

the track is 1.5 hours away & I drive it there.
I need to tow it so its cool

I have the std tune that comes with the SC. and no other go fast mods.

If you don't mind me asking , what was your out the door cost for the roush and install?

Any aftermarket part you put on or change on the engine is going to void your powertrain warranty, doesn't matter what SC.

We, along with Roush, offer supplemental warranties for the engine. Ours is $495 and covers the engine only. Roush is $995 and covers a bit more, but items such as the clutch will typically not be covered.

So you can have a warranty, but its not Ford's. A Ford dealer may say it keeps the warranty, but that's them thinking you won't have an issue, but when push comes to shove, you will not have a warranty unless someone pays for the supplemental warranty.

Many have been in this dilemma, do your research and you can make a decision that best fits your power goals vs budget.

Ford dealer charged me $1000 for the install. Thought that was very fair.
