What do you think of the size of the new Mustang?

In Europe it's huge. My 'stang is the longest car in my garage. It's even longer than one of my neighbour's station wagon. It's also the widest. But to my surprise, I have gotten used to the dimensions pretty quickly. It's only a bit of a shock stepping into my girlfriend's Fiesta though: "Where the heck is the hood of this car??"
Pretty much how I feel when I drive my wife's 2002 Civic now.

Im 6'6 so I love the size of it. I have had 4 doors my whole life, when I went and looked at the mustang it was more so to kill the curiosity and move on to the next 4dr car, never expected to leave the dealership with one.

Hood threw me off at first, but got use to it. It's perfect and while I notice some of the weight, nothing some lighter rims, CF driveshaft, GT PP brakes and whatnot can't fix

Probably the best handing car I've ever owned next to my Boxster and even that I haven't pushed as hard. Despite being an auto convertible, its very confidence inspiring!

car seems the perfect size to me, inside and out...if you pretend the back seats are just extra storage room instead of seats intended for people.
exactly what i do.

Physically very big (for which there really is little excuse), but it doesn't feel quite that large at all when you're behind the wheel of it. I was pleasantly surprised by this.

some people here need to be in a miata instead.
If Ford would make a Miata-like vehicle, but with a V8, decent tires and large enough that I can fit in it I would buy that. I don't care if there are rear seats or not. I would be fine without rear seats.

I won't buy a Japanese car, and I don't want a 4 cylinder or under-powered car. With the right 4 cylinder turbo in a small car with rear wheel drive I might be ok. As long as 0-60 is well under 5 seconds.

Oh, and the name of the car should be Mustang.

In other words, I would be in a Miata if it were exactly like a Mustang except a little smaller. If that's not available I would be in a Mustang. ;)

Too big and too heavy yet it's the lightest of the three in its class. Maybe it's not the right class of car for you?
I think I'll enjoy this car much more than my 02 Z06 that I owned a few years ago. I think it's right class, just needs a diet.

a Ford Mondeo is bigger than the Mustang, it is not THAT huge, compared with modern cars today. Look at Audi, BMW, Mercedes.

My last DD before was a 135i BMW, but I've owned an Expedition and Fox-body.
Is the current Mustang too big??? matter of opinion, too heavy definitely! Says the guy that ordered a Prem model. In a perfect gear-head's world the car would tip the scales at 34-3500 lbs. Driving the car it doesn't seem too big/heavy to me.

As long as it has a Coyote 5.0 in it, OK.

I don't think the car is too big, for what it is. It would be great if it was 300 lbs lighter, but cars are heavy these days. Stupid safety equipment, keeping us from getting killed and all.

Anybody remember the Sunbeam Tiger? Any small two seater with the Coyote motor would be a winner...a la Original Cobra. Or what the latest Thunderbird should have been.

Dont feel it's too large, though I feel the front 'feels' long due to the hood design of the S550 vs the GT350.

I am looking forward to a DD with "presence" on the road.
Will keep my small Lotus Elise for other driving fun.

The only problem is parking a Mustang in my garage so it may have to live on the drive at night.

While it's a large car, it's lower but wider than several other cars on the road. Case in point, here are a few shots I took this weekend and posted in another thread, with a WRX for comparison:
