I installed the regular ones, and drilled a hole in the battery cover. It was easy, pretty much invisible, and the battery cover is very soft plastic to there's almost no chance to damage it. Looks like OEM. If you watch their video first, it makes a lot more sense than the printed instructions, at least for this cave man. Good luck!

I have the MRT's (different look on the brackets and painted Ingot to match) but same style and I really like them. Only complaint was when I went to the body shop to have all my panels lined up they told me the MRT's lift the rear of the hood a hair up which I don't see. The install took me less than 20 min with no drills which I liked too! I used CJ as well and the paint was perfect and I get compliments at shows!

The battery cover really isn't that big of a deal. I have the redline tuning struts which work perfectly. I really don't like how close the strut is to the pivot point of the hood. Way too much weight in that corner, which equals more possibilities for problems.

The ones in your link are only good for the S197.

Drilling the hole is no big deal. The Redline Hood Struts comes with a drill bit that makes a very clean hole

I had MRT on my S197, and I will be going with them for my 15. I just don't like the idea of putting a hole in my battery cover, just doesn't look like a clean install to me.

Drilling a hole in the battery cover was no big deal. I like the Redline's.

My vote is for steeda struts, they've got a larger mounting base on the hood so there's a larger leverage point. They mount just like the redline's, requiring that you drill the battery cover but that's easy and really not noticed.

in addition to the hole you may want to cut a slit so you can remove the battery cover when you need to

If you're comparing the Redlines to the Hillbanks the Redlines have better seriously better mounting brackets. The Hillbanks bracket is near useless. I know I made the mistake of buying the Hillbanks because I thought Ford Performance on the strut was cool...my bad.

With the introduction of many aftermarket fiberglass and carbon fiber hoods of various quality for the 2015+ Mustang we have improved our hood bracket design to better support those hoods by spreading the lifting force over a greater area.

Our patent pending lower mounting system was designed for easy installation and prevent any movement of the bracket once installed.

Our QuickLIFT PLUS has a 4 year warranty on EVERYTHING including the gas springs (5 year on QuickLIFT ELITE). Our competitors offer "limited lifetime" warranty on their kits, but read the fine print as they only offer 1 year on their gas springs. Ask yourself this, how confident are they in their product if they warranty the only component that can actually wear out for only one year?

Customers will always have choices and an informed customer will make the best choice. We have been designing hood lift systems for over 13 years and stand behind our design and our products.

Any chance I can upgrade my hood brackets? That's the only thing I would change with my redline kit. Please PM me how to do so.

Thanks,
Jaime
