Running around SoCal with the wife and parked for lunch and and the center dash display told me me I was down to 18 PSI in the right rear. Visually the tire looked fine....after lunch it updated down to 16. During lunch I located an America's Tire less than 3 miles from where I was..(I was 22 miles from home). I watched the air drop on what seemed like an eternal drive as it hit 14 PSI. When I arrived to the tire shop I visually saw a large screw in a center tread.. 45 minutes later I had the tire repaired...no charge...the kid who serviced my car had never seen an S550 before...he told me it was the best manual he had ever driven..The tire sensor display sure saved me a new tire and rim expense...Gotta love technology.

Does the ecoboost with PP not come with the electric pump? Obviously it wouldn't have solved your screw problem, but would have given you a bit more breathing room.

Why is the kid who fixed the tire driving your car? You mean to get it in and out of the shop?

Yeah...the pump blows, and not in a good way. Ended up with a defect. Had to wait for a tow. :tsk:

Hmm..My pump works great..I use it at Autox all the time and never had an issue. Was shocked at how fast it adds air also for such a small pump.

Third one (replacement #2) was a charm for me.
Replacement #1 arrived at the dealership missing a dial.

Yea same thing happened to me tonight. Driving along with my girl heading out of town and the display said 22 psi. Pulled into a closed gas station and pumped up the tire with the craptastic electric pump in the trunk to get back to town. It was dark out so i can't tell if it's a nail or not. Will get it fixed in the a.m. but ready to order a spare in the next day or two.

The pump may be hit or miss, but I admit I really like the display letting you know something is wrong. My tires are so low profile it is hard to tell if one's half flat by just looking at it.

ive had to change nails a lot, I keep a kit in the trunk all the time. Used to have to use quarters to fill the air machine at a gas station, now this nifty *(useless) ford fix-a-flat happens to have an air compressor. Im not gonna complain about it because it worked perfectly to get me out of the middle of the city when it was busy as F

the pump is ok, you just have to tighten the fitting all the way to get it to seal, and it leaks air as you are tightening it. A bit unnerving when you have a low tire already

Yep.

Word to the wise on the sealant, your TPMS sensor is usually toast after using the crud.
