i wouldn't mind a scat pack automatic. challenger or charger. 8 speed auto, mmmm.

there's a reason why the upcoming ford focus RS and the GT350 only come in manual.

sure the auto is faster for the stoplight racer and the weekend drag racer, but damn, you're not "racing" every second of your life.
Amen brother.

I had no idea the manual had a bad reputation?
For real? The MT-82 is a Chinese made POS, I thought everyone knew this. ;)

I WISH Ford used a better quality manual in these cars...

Every Mustang I've owned (and several other vehicles as well) had a manual trans.

Coincidence? I think not. :D

Keep it dude! You will lose money on a trade in and it doesn't make sense to trade it in for the same car just with a manual trans. If I'm going to lose money it's going to be for a better car lol
If you read his post he is moving to a better car :D :headbang:

Why would you downgrade like that?

I am sure there is someone out there who regrets picking up an MT-82 and will be willing to swap their garbage for your 6R80.
^^Don't listen to guys like this. They offer no constructive feedback to the topic. He's always bashing the MT in these cars and the people that buy them.

There are people who do regret getting an MT-82, but there also people who regret getting the automatic (like the OP). It goes both ways!

Anyways, If I were you, I wouldn't trade in your automatic because of the hit you're gonna take (financially).
Yeah, that, and he also probably can't drive one ! Easier to bash than admit that you suck at something lol

Chinese are just like any other workers in the world, they get you what you paid for... You can get a shitty part made in the US or any other part of the world, as you can have great craftsmanship in China...
Just for anything, you get what you paid for : so let's just hope Ford paid enough for the MT82 lol

But in 2015, the whole "Made in China = crap" is dated, and thank god, since so much of what we buy is just built there, but with different level of quality...

I bought a GT because I couldn't live with the sound of the 4 cylinder
I bought a manual because a v8 sports car should be a manual

Slower or not, I like the engaging feel, control, being able to hear the exhaust and track pack it offers.

If you have remorse now it will only get worse

No one made fun of me for driving an auto..
When I got my first manual car ( my 2012 v6) I HATED driving it because I felt like I had to re-learn how to drive all over again, and I would mess up occasionally and feel like I was damaging my vehicle.

After about 4-6 months I started feeling comfortable, and the experience began to feel enjoyable. If this is going to be your absolute first manual car, I could see a similar experience for you and trust me, hating driving is the worst kind of buyers remorse to live with for a few months. You'll have to understand that it will certainly be an adjustment.

Thanks man. That was a helpful response.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to respond to this thread! I'm keeping my auto. My next ride, however...
Good choice. Ignore all the auto-versus-stick bashing, it's ridiculous and only serves to illustrate the mentality of the authors making the statements.

The grass is always greener, my friend, no matter what you get. The Mustang is a kick-ass car, regardless of your engine choice or transmission choice or trim choice. Just get out and enjoy it.
