I can't quite tell from the photos, but is the heat extractor directly above the CAI enclosure? If so, is there any concern with water ingestion when it's raining, or soaking the filter during a carwash? Does the filter prevent water going through the intake? I plan on getting a JLT intake anyway; I'm just curious. I'm also a car noob, so if this a stupid question, I apologize in advance!

The filter is actually back a little ways from the vent and in our own testing the water getting to the filter is minimal. We do also offer water repellent pre-filters for our kits for anyone that it would make sleep easier at night
.Nothing like the 2013-2014 Car's that were very problematic for that exact issue.

Does this pre-filter affect airflow to an appreciable degree? Do you have any data showing the impact of the filter, such as a dyno with the pre-filter off, then on?
P.S. My engine is thankful for your oil separator! It's working great!

Just picked up an AirRaid.
Almost went with JLT instead but I was afraid of the potentially high intake temps. in traffic.

High temps while sitting and you not needing power
High temps in all under hood parts including the stock and airaid box. (lol, there made from the same material)
Low temps while driving, more air, larger MAF, larger filter, no huge yellow logo and tons of options as far as looks.
No brainer

What is more beneficial? More airflow/volume or intake air temps?

For me personally, IAT because its my DD and I find myself in stop n go traffic now then.
If you're running down the 1/4 alot and need the most hp you can squeeze out, I'd say airflow.
I like the closed airbox design of the AirAid and will just do what Livernois did with their AirAid/Windstorm box - dremel out the Molded Venturi Tube. Livernois says the Molded Venturi Tube removed AirAid intake produced the same hp gains as the JLT intake - I believe them.
Does it suck to buy a new intake and have to dremel out part of it? Yeah, but I didn't want to buy the Livernois Windstorm/AirAid version because the AirAid is cheaper (shipping wise...Livernois's FedEx shipping costs are pretty high). To me a closed element intake that flows like a JLT is a win win.

Lol it should not even be called cai and tune,its cai and maf recalibration,so misleading.Any saying the other intakes tubes are not bigger than stock,put some money up.All of them make a little horsepower and are good intakes.My air raid race intake is open like the jlt and sitting i get high iat,s,as soon as i get moving they drop and quick.With just a tune cai and cat delets on stock tires i ran a 12.6 115 mph 6m pp car.Point their is quite a few good cai out their that dont need a maf recal to make power.
the airraid race requires a retune on the 11-14,s (assmuming you remove the insert) on the 15 it doesn't, but it's not as effective as the jlt imo

No one thats my point,if u use a jlt intake all u need is the maf recalibrated,its not tune as in tuning the engine,alot of guys on here are under the impression when they say cai and tune,the tune part is more then just recaibrating the maf.And when u use a cai that says tune required all they do is calibrate the maf unless u opt for a engine tune also.

You'll find lots of testing of our intake's on these boards, from not only us but from other shops/vendors/customers. Wish you could say the same for all the other systems on the market.
Is there a huge HP difference between the systems available? Not at all, but 5hp+ here and there counts. So if you're going to spend money on an aftermarket intake for your car, why not go for the best bang for the buck.
Performs as advertised.
Multiple options on finish of the intake tube, color of filter.
