What is the driving like there? Mainly highway/city, steep hills, etc?
I start out going to work with a 70/30 highway/city split. Then, on the way home, i stick mostly on surface streets because of our many nightly lane and road closures for the many retarded road works projects we have. That commute is mostly hilly, and i usually coast going down hills in gear. But when I'm on the freeway mostly I'm at about 65-70. Thats when drivers actually follow the flow of traffic, which is like 10% of the time.

Got stuck in moderate traffic on the way home, and i kept my 23MPG average for this tank. Gotta fill up tomorrow, and ill see what i can get on this tank.

Now try it without the cruise control and I bet you pick up at least 1 more MPG.
I have gone on numerous trips over 200 miles mostly highway going 5 mph over the speed limit on cruise with the AC running. I consistantly get over 25 MPG under these conditions. But lets get real, the 2015 GT with the performance package is all about power (435 HP) & performance and value ($3,000 below sticker)... the very good MPG potential is a great bonus.

The 3.73 gearing is also matched up with the 6 speed tranny that has 1:1 gearing in 5th gear, 6th gear is around 2,000 RPM at 65-70 MPH.

The only thing I care about is not running out of gas.

Yea most of the V6 and for sure the new ECO guys are always trying to come up with reasons they got the slower car, it makes no sense unless you did it purely for price.

I was going to get an ECO to save money on the purchase and still have a cool looking car, but then the super nice and very good salesman which I have known for a while, said lets test drive both, and we did, The GT blows away the ECO in feel, sound and of course power. I wasn't willing to live with the ECO to get a few mpg more. The same day, the dealer had to pull 1/2 there inventory of the Eco, due to the Heat Recall Issue, and that was its final nail in the coffin for me. Glad I got the GT and the fact I am getting better MPG than I ever expected is a nice bonus.

Now on to more important things for me, need to replace those so so factory 18" wheels / tires. :-)

See, two can play that game. Get what works FOR YOU and don't trash other people's decisions.

Well, thought I'd post and give more input. The bulk of my driving is usually city with a small section of highway. This is my lifetime avg not as of now. AC is almost always running. The car is a base GT with the PP, a tune on 93 and magnaflow competition catback

Err, picture won't upload from my 15871 miles at 17.5 avg mpg

I've never had a vehicle that got better mileage with the cruise control on. Every single one picked up 1-2mpg when I was in control (and actually trying to drive like I wasnt in a hurry). Test it out while maintaining the same speed, you'll probably be surprised. My F250s have been horrendous with the cruise control on ('01 V10, '06 diesel, and '11 diesel). Highway mileage doesnt exist where I'm at so I cant say for sure on the '15 Mustang but this was the case on the '12 I just got rid of.

Did a road trip today... and got 29.5 mpg with my GT. I just think it's amazing to get that.
I've gotten 30.2 on a trip of 200 miles in my GTPP with the 3.73 rear gears. It can be done, not suggested as it's a boring ride but it can be done.
Gonna call BS on this one too. Since I have owned 2 (still have one).

While I agree, you can easily get very poor MPG in the V6 ecoboost, you can also get very good MPG.
So I call BS on you having a V6 Ecoboost in a Mustang. Now that's a fact BS:doh:
These numbers are not hard to get in a coyote on the freeway. Some people can't accept that the freeway numbers aren't far off between the two models. I just got 29mpg average on a 4-hour freeway trip down to VA, setting cruise at 75mph. I got 31mpg doing the same trip in my EB Mustang 6 months ago.
True it can be done!:ford::cheers::headbang:

This is agree with, but for the guys that understand what's going on, explain to me how anyone is only getting13 14 mpg, they must be dogging it at every light and stop sign and on ramp and so on , right ? I cant understand that low a number.
