Did a road trip today... and got 29.5 mpg with my GT. I just think it's amazing to get that.

Yup it is amazing what the OEM's can do when they want to. There are 4 cyl econo cars that don't get that kind of MPG.

yeah...that pic doesn't count. with 250 mile to empty. you most likely are on a fresh reset of the gauge, and a lot of "down hill" highway miles in neutral, or you were drafting a semi.

sorry, but i am calling BS

retake the picture when MTE is less than 50 on a full tank. 25-26 will be very hard to attain.

if I reset my ecoboost and hop on the fwy it will show 39mpg for quite a while before settling to a lower mpg......nice try though

Mine Does

Someone's off base a little, I haven't been able to drive mine as much as I want, due to a stupid illness that's got me sideways, cant wait to feel better.

But in the 250 miles I have driven it, I am averaging 19 plus and its all city and mixed. I cant even believe it. We had one short mixed/highway trip and got 24, my stinking Ecoboost Escape was only getting 23 no matter how careful I drove it and when I get to Drive the GT, I aint driving it easy :-)

Just my opinion on MPG and the Coyote which is a blast to drive.

My lifetime fuel mileage is 20.4 in my GT auto. Hwy trips are easily in the 27 mpg range and at 55-60 mph I can get 30. That's not bad considering what performance is at my disposal. I have a buddy with an ecoboost 15 stang and he gets about 2-3 mpg better than me on average and I am the more aggressive driver. Everyone knows fords ecoboost engines only get good mileage on the window sticker. Real world testing shows they have a very hard time replicating what they are rated. The company I work for has a fleet of eb f 150 and they don't get the mileage the Chevy 5.3 gets unless you drive it like a complete pus.

I am averaging around 19, but if I can escape sitting in traffic it is ~24MPG. Not ecoboost type mileage, but I keep the top down almost 80% of the time, with the top up I get at least 10% better. Not a competition, but it gets as good of mileage as my previous two cars, and has almost 3x the HP and 10x the fun factor! :)

I see 27-28mpg with straight highway driving (3:55 gears) and 18mpg pure city. I happen to think that is incredible for a 435hp V8. My friend at work with an ecoboost basically averages my highway mileage and gets 36+ pure highway. Equally incredible for 310hp. These cars rock!! Even though the internal combustion engine is on borrowed time, it just keeps getting better.

I get 26.5MPG on the highway with my 3.55 gears. Firstly, I did not buy this car for gas mileage. I would have bought it even if it got 10MPG.

Gonna call BS on this one too. Since I have owned 2 (still have one).

While I agree, you can easily get very poor MPG in the V6 ecoboost, you can also get very good MPG.

The key...... Stay out of the boost. just like a V8. stay off the gas and your gas MPG will be fine.

The way My SHO and Ex Sport are set up, setting the cruise @ 71 mph or less, and you can get 26 mpg all day long. @ 72 or greater, you switch from vacuum to boost and fuel economy drops down to 20-21 right away. @ 80 you are in the teens.

If I skip shift my GT with PP and do exactly 60mph on my way to work I get around 22.5-23. Normal driving I get 19-21.
