It's already called me out on being less than as attentive as I should have been on more than one occasion.
Sorry, but if that's the case maybe few driving classes are in order? Remember that friends' cars or rentals will not have collision mitigation.

True....if you lack discipline. ;)
Guaranteed that this shortage of discipline will apply to some, and unfortunately there will be S550 drivers and most likely even a few M6G members in that group.

But even if you are strongly disciplined as a driver to make everything else wait and just drive the damn car, you can lose the edge off of any driving skill if you don't use it as much. Trust me on this, and no, I don't see that as being a good thing.

I would love it but we in Europe will not have it, neither standard or as an option. No ACC, BLIS or collision assistant.
Hey but we get the rain sensor included

I wonder why 'European' Mustangs won't come with AAC/BLIS/Collision warning? European cars usually are the first to have such technology. Volvo and Subaru already have forward warning dectection. It looks several cars ahead rather than just bouncing radar off the vehicle directly ahead of you.

I've had it on a couple of different cars. I don't use it like it was really intended, to slow your pace to match the car in front of you. While it does that, I'm usually pulling out to go around them anyway.

I absolutely LOVE it for the safely aspect. On at least a couple of occasions I've been going 10 or so over the limit passing cars going down the interstate when for no apparent reason a car from the right lane pulls out right in front of me. Now I was paying full attention but the cruise hit the brakes before I could get my foot on the brake petal. While I likely would have been able to hit the brake and slow down, it is good to know that the technology in my car is there to help. It may save a life next time when I glance over at my wife in the passenger seat just as someone puts out in front of me.

They way I see it, if it I put it on every car I buy for the rest of my life and I only need it once to prevent at accident while I'm going 70+ miles an hour it was a bargain! My 17 year old niece was killed in an auto accident almost exactly three years ago to the day and as far as I'm concerned, anything that can be reasonably done to reduce the risk of a fatal accident is worth the money. What is it worth to you to increase the safely for your family in your car? That's the question, that for me, makes adding it to my cars not even a question.

Nice testimony. Thanks.

But it only will precharge the brakes when you are in ACC, and not when you are not, correct?
Since it isn't a full blown collision avoidance system, when running under ACC it will slam on the brakes, to match the speed of the car that pulled out, but it doesn't do anything when you don't have the cruise set. That would be nice but that's only an option on the really high end cars, and even that's limited.

I have it set to the most sensitive. You'd be surprised what it'll alarm to. I've never rear-ended somebody in several hundred thousand miles of driving, or even an at fault accident (apart from a deer). What driving classes that you've personally taken would you suggest?

The collision mitigation is even more worth the money. It's already called me out on being less than as attentive as I should have been on more than one occasion.

Something that would stop you from relying on technology to save your a** and make you a better more attentive driver, especially when driving cars without collision mitigation.

Why are you being a d*** and splicing my quotes together and out of context? Maybe I was asking a serious question.

So again, with all due respect. What driving classes that you've personally taken would you suggest I take?
