The 4.6 and Eco would prob be neck and neck, the slightest edge to the 4.6, though it's probably a drivers race really.

OP states----
" I think some people just don't want to admit that their engine can be beat by another engine with fewer cylinders and smaller displacement"

that is a broad statement encompassing a wide variety of engines. actually all of them. so that's where I got my statement from.
sorry man. im just insecure. hahaha.
If his statement encompasses all engines then why did you only focus on yours? That's probably where the insecure statement came in at.

And lets be honest, you knew what he was talking about.

To the OP, I think it'd be a drivers race. Very slight edge to the older V8, but it'd be close.

I have both. A premium 07 Gt and the EB premium w/PP. Both are manuals and have 3.55 gears. I've driven both in the last 24 hours.

As mentioned earlier the 4.6 feels a little faster. Nothing scientific here but it just feels more athletic than the EB. The s550 is so much more composed chassis wise that the speed difference, if any, may be invisible or well hidden. Just my .02

One day I will run them both at the track and compare directly the results.

The EB might actually feel faster due to the torque curve.

But one thing to consider is the 4 valve 4.6 is known for being literally a modder's paradise. I've heard of people buying an old cobra for $15k then with just $3k worth of mods get easily 600 hp.
Thats a different motor. The OP is talking about the 3v v8 which is on the 05-10 models.

So what? I'm saying that there exist 4.6L v8s that are really fun cars to mod. He asked about the 4.6 so I brought up arguably the best variant ford produced.

because its the relevant engine on the forum and the one that drives me to work everyday. I mean I could talk about the N54 engine or the boxer engine, but those seem kinda irrelevant to me at this time.

Ah, I see. Easy mix up on your part.

This is a "Mustang verses" subforum, and here people discuss how the S550 (be it the V6, Eco4, or the 5.0) compare against other vehicles. The OP was wondering how his Eco4 would compare against a different vehicle, namely a 05-10 GT. Not only are these sorts of conversations acceptable to have in this subforum, its quite literally the reason this subforum exists.

Hope that clears things up for ya.

I have full bolt-ons on my ecoboost, downpipe, catback, FMIC, CAI, tuned, and the car feels completely different than the bland stock form, so what I'm saying is that stock for stock it's a drivers race, now though I'll walk a stock one for sure, the tune alone adds 100+tq.

Here is a quote from motor trend on the 2010 mustang GT:

"Good thing the 2010 Mustang GT is quick. It hits 60 mph in 5.2 seconds, a tenth quicker than the previous-generation GT. The quarter mile arrives in 13.7 seconds at 103.7 mph, two tenths quicker and 2 mph faster than the 2008 GT we tested in December 2007."

The EB is just slightly slower than that in stock form

Why not compare to the 2015 GT, 4.4 seconds to 60MPH

That'd be interesting to see. I'm assuming both are stock?
2015 Mustang = 5.0 V8 435hp, 400lbs torque, and great history!

2015 Mustang 4 cylinder = overworked, lame sound and longevity??? time will tell I guess.

You can always pretend you have a 5.0.

They're talking about the pre-coyote GT. You know, pre-2011. The comparable 300HP engine. 3 valves, SOHC, etc. Like it says in the title, and what has been discussed. You know, if you stopped to read anything instead of instantly going to the defensive, you might learn something!

The 4.6 wins on sound alone.

Clearly you have poor reading comprehension because you somehow failed to understand the title of the thread
