Yeah, the TTV6 was me dreaming. I assume it will be this line-up:
2.0T--272HP/295TQ (ATS engine, maybe bump it up to Ecoboost level in HP)
3.6 V6--335HP/284TQ
6.2 LT1 V8--(est.)450HP/450TQ (or same as Vette 460HP/465TQ)

Only time will tell...
It will be interesting to see what is released in a few weeks. As we get closer the engine options are going to leak out in some way just like they did for the Mustang.

If Chevy makes the V6 the mid model, I do think Ford will have to respond with something for their V6.

SS is selling terribadly, so not likely. Plus the Camaro will have a much larger affect on CAFE, so the LT1 with its higher efficiency is a much more likely choice.
It actually is still selling good and it's above last years numbers, It's just the new Mustang is selling way better thus making it look like the Camaro isn't selling well.

2cool was referencing the Chevy ss sedan and not the camaro SS.

New engines for the 2016 Cadillacs. Two V6''s.
http://media.cadillac.com/media/us/...r/0320-cadillac/0320-cadillac-twin-turbo.html

Will these be the low and mid-range engines for the new Camaro? They will also be mated to an 8L45 eight speed transmission. Maybe they scrapped the turbo 4?

Base Camaro-V6
Mid Camaro-TTV6
SS Camaro-LT1

My interest has perked up a little.
Just revealed today...engines...also rumored they are getting the 8 speed.

Well things don't look good for Ford, looks like camaro will be taking advantage of the lt1 engine and 8 speed trans, better mpg, better torque and hp! The one advantage the mustang had over the camaro was weight and i can say that is gone too so i m not sure what Ford was thinking, time will tell!

Just like all previous Camaro's, these won't be selling much outside of the US. Ford however will be selling a bucket load of EB Mustangs.

He's talking about performance. Ford needs to be careful here. The lt1 is no joke.

In the end you want to build cars that sell and make a profit at the bottom line. A LT1 Camaro has CO2 emissions that are not much better than Ford's V8 Coyote. Not to mention the 'fuel-vortex-in-your-fuel-tank' inducing cylinder sizes. For any place out side of the US or some rich oil state, this car is not going to be sold in any large volume. It's for all means and purposes an 'exotic car'. Ford can make those too, just look at the GT. Does it matter? Business wise? Not really.

I for one hope the new Camaro is a beast. The LT1 is going to display some awesome numbers for sure. The lighter/smaller platform (we'll see just how much) should surely help with the car's weight problem...although, weight, in the case of the Camaro, is just a number and not so much a problem these days.

I mean...look at what Dodge has done with the Hellcat. Made a comfortable, absolute beast of a car for a price that shocks you in a good way. The Scat Pack is much of the same...a lot of content for the dollar.

The rivalry these cars generate just helps to make them all better. Nothing like some friendly competition!

LT1 is great... but direct injection is still a carbon buildup pain in the arse. Camaro guys can get together with the BMW guys to have their walnut shell blasting intake port parties. With no extra injector for the ports it will get nasty.

I had a Mazdaspeed 3 and can attest to the intake cleaning parties....

Compare apples to apples. The LT1 should not be compared to the Coyote but to the Voodoo. And unless I missed something we do not know the exact specs on that yet or what the beast called 350 will do with it.

Wait so you are saying lt1 in a regular camaro ss is not comparable to a regular mustang gt? You can't compare a gt350 to an ss my friend, maybe a new zl1 or z28 but the ss and gt are always been apples to apples its as simple as that!

I'm not quite yet ready to give them the win in the weight category just yet. Remember when the first rumors about the S550 were coming out it was claimed that Ford had magically shaved off 500lbs. Then it was down to 300lbs... then 150lbs... and now that the cars are in production we know the true weight of the car.
