If the Camaro ends up putting out better numbers, it's not going to dull my ownership or buying choice one bit.

I've had this car for a good amount of time, and one of the LAST things I've thought of is "shit, I could use about 35 more horses." The main areas that Ford can improve the S550 are:

1) everything infotainment related

2) polishing up the suspension rates

3) fine tune the steering resistance presets and speed up the rack's ratio

4) better transmissions

5) better sound system options

6) improve QC - panel fitment, interior squeaks/rattles, etc.
Agreed with all except 1, 3,4,no strong opinion on 2 yet as I haven't pushed the car hard enough to notice any issues - feels great for sporty street driving in the city and freeway ramps.

I like the steering presets and quickness a lot - I felt the S197 was too slow and the STI, Focus ST to be too quick. What's wrong with the manual transmission? I like the action, although I find the clutch tricky and springy.

Ford has already said that the Camaro is not their competition. They may not respond but reiterate that they are going after the BMW/Audi crowd.
If they were after this crowd they would need to advertise. As of now, they'll be happy dominating the big three in this segment, while promoting their big seller - the Fusion.

I personally don't have any qualms with the MT-82 but the clutch was far from ideal until I removed the spring. Apparently there are better transmissions to be had, but the transmission suggestion I had was mainly aimed at the 6R80. I think it's due for a replacement in order to stay competitive.

I really miss my iDrive. MFT does what I need it to but it's less intuitive in every manner and takes more steps to get the same things done (plus things like locking out address input while cruising is infuriating because the voice recognition has a 50% success rate based on my experience).

Got it. I will also look into removing the spring based on suggestions in this forum.

I was really skeptical about it at first. Just do it! Make sure you have something to compress the spring. Completely worth it.

+1 , but I'll add that you should give it a week to adjust to it depending how long you've been driving in the current config. 1700 miles and pulling the spring it was a big difference, but I noticed exponentially less every time I got in it, and after a couple days don't even think about it.

After test driving the current ones and using the MFT and then seeing Sync 3 in action, honestly that changed my mind. Being able to hook up the cell phone and it shows on screen is pretty big.

Maybe they'll update the speakers some.

Regardless, the dealer took care of me (Ford was not involved) and the car looks great - they even gave me a free nice loaner. I feel Ford should get it right in the first place though. My final tip - if you care about these things, have the dealer fix them before you pick it up (I didn't). Some of the defects cannot be fixed period without structural work and you will be stuck with it (if this kind of stuff bothers you). Lastly, if your car already has issues, ask the dealer to work with their bodyshop (and take care of the comps) and then interface with the body shop directly. A good one (like the one I had) can do all of this in a few hours!

Best of luck and hope this helps!
Yah that shouldn't be happening on a 35K+ car.

Ummm....

A 10th Anniversary Mustang GT-R w/ the GT350's Tremec and a Cyote would have been nice. A late 2016 entry would be good too.

The Mustang hasn't had an actual 1LE type model yet, would love to se a decontented GT with the Tremec and a 3.73/3.91 gear.

Start at $39,995...

I need 2 of them stat!!!

In 2017...

The dreaded GT500 will return...

...then we won't hear about the Camaro anymore :(

I don't think this has been said yet. Why wouldn't Ford just work the Boss 302 intake back into the GT if the Camaro is ~450hp?

Because thats a track manifold and in stock form you lose low end daily driven torque. When modded you can get it back wit headers and tune.
