The Performance Package to me makes perfect sense. It was the only thing I refused to compromise on. Sure, you can purchase new brakes, new springs and struts, new wheels and tires, a strut tower brace, upgrade the sway bars. And have a much better car than a standard GT PP. But once you include the costs of parts, instillation (even if you install it yourself, your time isn't free).
So if you intend to do a lot of modifications yourself, absolutely skip the Performance Package, but for me, it was absolutely worth it.

Personally, I will opt for a little performance while I wait.
