Sooo looking to add a catted DP to my stock exhaust. Just curious on what I should go with. So many out now it's hard to choose. Lol. Plus only video I found was WMS off-road DP with stock exhaust. But wanting to see DP's with cats on stock exhaust. What DP's interest yall??

There aren't that many out.

WMS has an off-road catless one. It's a nice piece with a company that's got a good forum presence.

MAPerformance has a catless/catted one. Looks to be very high quality, a bit higher priced but the quality looks great.

MRT has both varieties as well - but I personally wouldn't spend a dime with this company considering how they ship their exhausts & don't stand behind it.

Livernois also has downpipes available, once again on the pricey side.

I'm not sure of any others available -- I'm sure in no time fftec, cobb, etc will have options available.

When picking a downpipe, pick if you want catted or catless & buy one with good fitment and fits your budget. Simple as that lol

Also need to keep in mind if you plan to upgrade your turbo down the road you will probably need to repurchase your downpipe as one built for the stock turbo will likely not work with an aftermarket turbo.

Unless you get a stock placement turbo from ATP

Not sure that's 100% true. May only work with their DP since they specifically offer a modular one for upgraded turbo.

I don't mind re-buying a downpipe. I'll probably just get a cheap, catless downpipe that has decent fitment to the stock/aftermarket catbacks.

Question, do we not have to worry about being non-catted in Texas or do you guys just switch out the DP for inspection :p

Most, me included, just swap out the DP when needed. Even on my MKV GTI I got it to be about a 30 minute job. Looks super simple with all the room on the EB too.

Yes you have to worry about that, if the vehicle came factory with a CAT it has to be present upon inspection. You can't remove emission parts from a vehicle that came factory with them. Now will all inspectors look at this probably not

I have friends and family that live in Texas... if you "know someone" at the emissions testing place, you can get a pass. Plenty of friends have offroad exhaust systems and their cars are daily driven in the DFW area. I can promise you that they are not swapping back to a legal or stock system to get a pass for their emissions testing. Either way, I am really glad that Oklahoma has no emissions testing, off-road downpipe and Cobb tune will be one of the first mods on our EcoBoost.

I live in Texas & am a certified state inspector so yes if you know someone you can pass but it is illegal to remove any emission related items. There always ways around everything:thumbsup:

We were very proud to have brought the first OR Downpipe to the Mustang EB market. Its a very high quality SS pipe that has a flex joint, proper mounting hardware and still uses the stock donut gasket which we feels follows the design of how Ford intended the exhaust to fit and function. Ours is also Modular in design where it will fit your stock exhaust and also fit with our resonator delete Y pipe.

I personally package each one myself ensuring that there will be no damage or even the slightest chance of damage to our product. I'm very particular about how a product arrives at your doorstep and am very aware of how boxes are treated during transport. We do not skimp on packaging this product.:headbang:

Ours is also the lowest cost downpipe around while still maintaining the quality product you guys deserve. $289 is a great price and we plan on keeping it there no matter what the demand is. You guys deserve fair prices on products.

We will have more in stock late tomorrow and have ramped up production so we dont ever run out of stock again.

If we can be of any help please dont hesitate to call.

Thanks,

JJ

Thank you for mentioning our downpipe Wireless. Most of the downpipes on the market aren't tig welded or back purged. I see a lot of poor quality materials being used and it has me surprised people are willing to put aluminized or mild steel on their brand new vehicle.

You can click the link in my signature for more information on our downpipe and other products, but I will point out something not listed in our post.

If you buy our downpipe, we are intending to use the factory fitment downpipe as part of our big turbo kit. There will be a small adapter that will go from the upgraded turbo to our downpipe. So you will not be forced to buy an expensive turbo kit, because it requires a different downpipe.

Also, our downpipe is modular and doesn't require any cutting to your factory exhaust or any other part of your vehicle. If you buy just our downpipe now it will fit with the factory exhaust connection. If you buy our catback at a later day, there will be an option of "I already have MAP Downpipe" and we will throw in a full 3" middle connection piece with v-bands to eliminate the factory style DP to CB connection 100%.

We also use a METAL core high cell count high flow cat in our exhaust, instead of ceramic which will wear out over time.

Let me know if this helps, or if you have any questions.

PS - We are running a special on our catted downpipe through the end of the week. $555.00 shipped!

Thank you,
Adam Brunson
