One of the oldest "mods" is to undo the bypass return hose and cap the intake hole with a 1" rubber chair pad. Yes, it could make your car a little slower, and yes, it's best to spend $ on an actual BOV or bypass plate, but has anyone done this just for fun? I had a chair pad laying around from my younger days and undid the clamps but those hoses were practically glued on. The heat I'm sure didn't help. Any suggestions to removing the rubber hose from plastic intake other than a flathead jammed in between them? View attachment 493445

The clamps are typically the hard part. Try twisting it when pulling

The clamp came off easy peasy lemon squeezy, the hose itself seems to be fused onto the intake. Twisting doesn't move it much, and I'm trying to avoid jamming a flathead in there.

Radiator hose removal tool, sounds esoteric but you'd be surprised how handy they are to have around. Get it up between the cap and the fitting then pull around the circumference to free it up.

Update: surprisingly, I waited until the engine had cooled (still warm) and tried again. They slipped right off, after removing the clamps of course. Sounds much more "pshhhhh" now! Best 75 cents ever lol

Makes sense. Plastic expands with heat and contracts after it cools.

Right, but the rubber hose needed to expand around the plastic intake inlet. Lol - anyway, came right off. Nice and loud pshhhhhh now.

Got anymore tips to slow my car down? Performances down grades are always @ the top of my list.

All of sudden I understand the Jersey Shore cartoon show.

LMAO

The 10 speed and Sport+ is far from slow man, especially with this. It's not meant to increase performance, just sound.

Did your caretaker leave the front door unlocked again? Wrong forum. Unless you deliberately came here to seek out someone to talk shit to. In that case, you've obviously got some bigger, personal issues going on.

Personally its not something I find appealing. It's just not quite right if that makes sense. I couldn't put my finger on it it was either coming in too early or lasting too long or both. Each to there own as they say.
