So I have a 2021 GT 6MT. Added the Ford Performance pack intake/tune, H-pipe, and custom stereo system. Love my car...but it just hit 40k, and 5 years old, so maybe it's time to move on. I've wanted a vette for years, and the C8 just looks awesome.

Test drove a 2025 C8 3LT vert...and it was very disappointing. It had 40k miles and was trashed. Probably not the best example to make a judgement on...but I had my wife with me so we test drove it. First, it didn't blow me away like I thought it would with acceleration. It was fast, but in a subdued way, even in "Z" mode. Anyway, the vert top squeaked like crazy, the dash had de-laminated issues (I know all 3LTs have this problem), it was missing a trim piece on the drivers side for the headliner/top and the rims were rashed. They still wanted 70k for it...ya, no. To top it all off, my wife was uncomfortable with the wall of buttons thing right where her elbow was resting. I'll look at the 26 and up as they re-designed it...but that kills any used deal as it's only a year old. Maybe a 19 Z06...but they are GT500 prices.

I guess I was just expecting to try and convince my wife that we needed this car, but we were both disappointed. I've been kind-of bummed ever since to be honest. Anyway, maybe I'll give the Dark Horse another look? Really didn't like the iPad dash...but it could grow on me.

Maybe drive a Stingray? If you still want the DH look for it in your rear view mirror.

This was a Stingray 3LT. I cant afford the C8 Z06. Maybe an E-Ray...but it still has the interior issues.

Sounds like you had one that was a little rough. They’re very quick but to me, very boring. There’s not much emotion in that car for some reason. The C7 is a far more exhilarating experience IMO. If you’re going the Vette route. Grand Sport or Z06 is the way, just be aware the GS is very rigid. The stock wheels are prone to cracking due to the rigidity of the chassis and suspension. Definitely not a cruiser car. Z06 is a better overall ride quality. But damn the GS is a blast on twisties…

I think the C7 Z06 would scratch my power itch...always wanted a supercharged car.
Super fun car, would highly recommend a test drive

Go drive a ZL1. No cooling issues like the C7 Z06, same LT4. Alpha chassis extraordinary handling/ride balance/compromise. Absolute beast. 2 quick cheap mods and you have 700+ hp/torque.

And yes, you can see out of it, contrary to the internet. Go give one a go!

I'd look at an E ray personally if those are in your price range. The price on them is coming down more and more every day and its an awesome machine. I feel like it just gets hate because its called an eray. Best of luck which ever way you go

And all you need is 150 - 200k to buy one.

IDK, the one I drove was pretty baller when driving very hard on closed course. It was pretty new, so I can't speak to build quality long term.

I agree with you on the wall of buttons. The interior of those cars is just so gross and poorly designed. I get what they're trying to do but it's miserable to sit in.

i hated being inside that car. it was really disappointing tbh because I wanted it to be awesome. that center console wall is just ridiculous.

it performed incredibly but who wants a car you hate being inside?
