Got it, my fault I totally misunderstood your post. Maybe Ford doesn’t think it will add value to the brand? Who knows. These brands are so protective of their IP and the vendors they partner with are usually very protective of their ability to use that IP (almost exclusively in some cases). Makes it tough (if not impossible) for new folks to break in for sure.
No worries, and I think you and @murick are probably pretty close to their reasoning, but I still stand by that it brings more brand loyalty and value to offset whatever that cost is. Letting the 3rd party market thrive is what has kept people coming back for more over the decades… yes it’s a business, but this brand was built around cars for everyone, and I’m pretty sure we’ve been customizing since the beginning.

I think we've come to a point in time where the ability / low cost of entry for anyone to create custom merchandise with a plotter/decals, 3D print, laser engravers, cnc plasma tables, and cnc routers has caused a huge volume to manage your IP.

Maybe so, but with their bandwidth how hard is it to just create a criteria checklist to meet in order for use followed up with royalty payouts? Then an annual review by their IP team to ensure they still are in compliance. To me, that’s just a brand growing and changing to meet the current and future times. Keeping themselves relevant. The news on most of them lately is that of a 5 year old complaining some other kid used their toys.

Should have my original owners kit here soon. Got a tracking number on June 30th, and didn’t have any movement since. Got an update from Ford Show Parts, they said they’re getting my chassis badge made, which is why I have not received it yet.

I approve, holy crap! Post pics when you get it!
Figured I would keep everyone posted, after the ZR1X got announced changed to that list and regretting it a little bit. Dealer has only received one allocation so far and I would have probably already got the ZR1 by now if I had stayed there. This came in a couple days ago to have fun with in the meantime.

Was enjoying the moment so honestly I didn’t take any pictures, but took my grandfather to a local car show today. He is 79 years old, and educated me a ton on a lot of the older stuff, and I did the same for him about a lot of the newer stuff. Reminded me what it’s all about.

Made a new oil filter cover out of 20 gauge sheet metal.
Bravo, well done. Does steel handle the S-bend better than aluminum? I'm thinking of doing the same out of 18 gauge ( 0.040") or 1/8" sheet aluminum (don't know the alloy, just scrap I have laying around.)

I have never even seen thin sheet aluminum. I think even lighter than 20 gauge would work.

The airaid filter looks good. 1st thing I replaced with mine. Did cabin filter as well but not as posh as the hepa you are using. Mine was a bluecode? Or summat like that.
Airaid installed below....

Busy day with the Mach today. Had an Airraid filter sitting here for weeks waiting. My catch cans just showed up so today was the day. Pulled the air box apart and to my surprise the previous owner of N1111 had already pulled the carbon trap. Put it back together and installed my new filter.

next I installed the RH catch can. And buttoned everything back up.

Pics of my Mangoal dash cam I installed as well. It’s plug and play but if you want parking sentry mode you need to run an additional wire to the fuse box.
