No issues. But while I used to let the tank get as low as 1/4, now, I keep it above 1/2. FWTW.

I don’t believe it will be that simple. One of the brushes seized up in mine. I’m gonna guess that’s the type of failures that Ford has seen.

Here’s my pump cut open for inspection after it failed.

Who’s the original supplier of the pump?

I am going to get my oil changed tomorrow morning and get the 2 outstanding recalls I have been putting off. When they were looking up my recalls this one didn't come up.

Wish they would hurry am up and announce the fix. I did two track weekends with my car recently and with the fuel consumption and heat I was constantly filing up for fear of pump failure.

Why not just replace it with a DW400 yourself?

I wouldn't hesitate for a second to drop one of these in the car. Warranty or not. Voiding the warranty over a fully functioning part seems basically impossible to me. You have to have a fuel related problem, for a dealership to void the warranty over it. Keep your old module in the garage somewhere and drop it back in if you need warranty work done. Or, wait until your current OEM pump fails, and leaves you stranded I suppose. Once Ford releases the fix, you can put the OEM module back in, and take it to the dealership for the Warranty work. Then, bring the car back home, put the DW400 module back in, and keep the Warranty "fix" part as the backup

This is for the 650. Just got the news today and didn't want to do an individual post for something I know nothing about. It takes a month to get seen at my dealership so a fast up date might be helpful.

Well, it took over a year for them to come up with a software update...

Manufacturer Recall Number25S75
NHTSA Recall Number25V455

Summary
IT IS POSSIBLE FOR YOUR VEHICLE TO SUSTAIN A LOSS OF FUEL PRESSURE AND FLOW FROM THE FUEL TANK DUE TO FUEL PUMP FAILURE. THIS CAN CAUSE A LACK OF FUEL DELIVERY TO THE ENGINE AND RESULT IN AN ENGINE STALL WHILE DRIVING. PRIOR TO FUEL PUMP FAILURE, YOU MAY EXPERIENCE POOR ENGINE PERFORMANCE MISFIRING OR RUNNING ROUGH, A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, OR A REDUCTION IN ENGINE POWER. FUEL PUMP FAILURE IS MORE LIKELY TO OCCUR UNDER LOW FUEL OR WARM WEATHER AND HOT FUEL CONDITIONS IN THE FUEL TANK.

Safety Risk
AN ENGINE STALL WHILE DRIVING INCREASES THE RISK OF A CRASH.

Remedy
A REMEDY IS AVAILABLE. SOFTWARE IS AVAILABLE TO REPAIR YOUR VEHICLE. FORD MOTOR COMPANY HAS AUTHORIZED YOUR DEALER TO UPDATE THE SOFTWARE IN THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE PCM FREE OF CHARGE.

Manufacturer's Notes
IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS REGARDING THIS RECALL, OR BELIEVE ANY OF THIS INFORMATION IS INACCURATE, PLEASE CONTACT FORD DIRECTLY AT 800-392-3673 OR LINCOLN AT 800-521-4140.

How is a fuel pump failure fixed with a software update?
I'm getting the update on Monday, but I wouldn't doubt if I get an in-dash warning that says "High fuel temps/low fuel level detected. Pull over and shut the vehicle off. You have 15 seconds to comply." (Also said over the speakers in the Robocop, ED 209 voice).

Been contemplating this. If my interpretation is correct, that debris plugging the jet pump .017ā€ nozzle is causing the issue, then how could controls fix it? Well, it’s pretty chintzy, but if they commanded higher fuel pressure all the time it would make a compromised venturi jet work better. I’d like to see an updated calibration if anyone wants to read it with an old version of hpt or any version of Pcmtec.

So they want to burn out fuel pumps out faster? Let me guess, we get stuck footing the bill when that chicken comes home to roost.
