Car dies on me two mornings ago and left me stranded on side of road in 25 degrees, 46k miles on my 16. Ford covering under powertrain warranty, they had the fuel pump in stock but the o ring won the in until Tuesday. Find it odd they stock something like that for the car unless they have had issues with it. Haven’t seen any complaints or failures yet. No warning while cruising at 75 felt a lurch and then car was breaking up bad in the exhaust and I saw the a/f peg at 20 and it wouldn’t stay running. Would restart every time but only run a few seconds, no checking engine light or anything for the lean condition.

Fuel pump probably used in a number of Ford vehicles. Not surprising really...

Mine just failed last week. 2016 with around 61,000 miles. At least with the convertible, it's easy to remove.

Mine started idling rough, but seemed to run fine at higher RPMs. But it got worse over about 20-25 miles and finally died. Luckily, I was at home when it died. I was watching the short-term fuel trims, and they started around 20% when it was first running rough. Threw the CEL at about 30%. And when it died, they were up around 50%. I thought at first I had some bad gas, but that would have been too simple...

Well, I'm going to document my bad luck here for the next poor soul who comes along. I was running at a track day event and things were going mostly well (except for rear diff temp warning, but that's another story). Finished the morning sessions and was thinking about going to get lunch. I noticed backing out of my garage stall that the car hesitated, which was weird and concerning, but then it seemed to act normal. Barely left the track facility and got out onto the public road when she started sputtering and losing power and then died. Would not re-start. Had the car towed to the local Ford dealership which fortunately was only 6-7 miles away. At first they told me they thought maybe I had just run out of gas which would have been embarrassing, but that would have been a great outcome! Anyway, if I was out of gas I was going to be irritated because I knew for certain that I had at least a small amount left in the tank, and if it was empty then the gas gauge was lying to me. Anyway, they finally called me back and told me it was the fuel pump, which of course they did not have in stock and we are waiting for one to come from Memphis. This is all on my 2022 GT with less than 11k miles.

Good news is that the tow should be covered by insurance, and the repair should be covered by Ford. Worst of it aside from the inconvenience was missing out on the afternoon track sessions!
