I’m sorry I hurt your feelings? And where in that did I mention ESS? Fanboi?

Nothing is more annoying than people that feel the need to inject their opinion on threads that have nothing to do with the topic of discussion. If you don’t like the topic then stay out of it? It’s really not hard. It always ends up being a power adder war like all the other 3,456,908 threads. We get it. It’s been hashed out literally thousands of times. You’re literally beating the dead horses skeleton into dust at this point.

My low boost centri setup runs 9’s with the stock converter and 125 pulley. And low 5’s 60-130 from a roll on the 125 pulley. Plenty have been deep 9’s and 4’s on the 120 pulley. I’m sorry if yours is ā€œdisappointingā€. Mine isn’t and every single one of my customers has had an amazing experience. If that makes me a ā€œFanboiā€ I’ll wear it as a badge of honor.
You see how he is? Thats why I put him on silence a long time ago.

I’d go Procharger Stage 2, commyfornia kit. 1050s , disappointing 600+ on pump, BAP, no OPGs, Wengard tune for E85 until I have to smog it. Haha!

that’s probably the key in this day and age…install a compliant kit for the CARB number and max it out in between smog sessions šŸ˜‚

Highly doubt it's much over 100lbs. The shipping weight is like 149lbs, you can't count the packaging, and you remove a couple things as well.
I've seen the before-and-after weights on three different cars, and every one of them gained 150ish lbs. And don't forget, that's not just the blower—it's the intercooler, heat exchanger, coolant(8lbs per gallon), brackets, plumbing, etc. More importantly, most of that weight is hanging right off the nose.

Maybe I'm just a weight snob, but I'd lose sleep knowing I threw the GT350R's balance that far off. I'd probably end up installing a ridiculous audio system in the trunk just to use it as ballast and get some of the weight back where it belongs! jkjk

That's one of the reasons I keep gravitating toward the ESS setup. It adds roughly a third of that weight to the front of the car, and you can shave another 10 lbs off the nose with the Steeda bumper beam. Too bad the lithium battery experiment didn't work out for me, because between a lightweight battery and the Steeda bumper, you'd almost offset the entire weight of the ESS kit.

And of course... the easiest 8 pounds you'll ever lose is deleting the windshield washer fluid. Race car logic.

The intercooler for a centrifigual and heat exchanger for a Whipple probably weigh the same. Centrifugals also have brackets, metal 3" intercooler piping weighs just as much as coolant hoses...and the weight is more on the nose. At least on a Whipple the majority of the weight is on top of the engine, not in front of it.

There's no way it's a 150lb weight increase...

Anyone have a Whipple on the shelf that they can throw on a scale?

The box for the Whipple is 150ish broski...then add coolant etc.... The Entire ESS kit is sub 45lbs ,literally a 100lb difference in the nose

Nobody's questioning that. Just if the Whipple weight is overstated.
It’s not. Neighbor across the street from me just installed one. Weight of the box said 153 lbs. on it. Take away packaging and add in more coolant if should be at or close to 150 lbs.

Could be. I just want an actual number, not a guess.

Correct, let’s not forget removal of components such as the intake manifold, tb, fuel rails, injectors, bolting, hoses, tensioner and belt, fuel pump, etc. I bet it’s 40-50 lb of parts removed before installation begins. The bare manifold is 20 lb by itself.
