What I'd like to know is why was 93 only about $0.50 or so above 87 ten years ago, but now it's well over a buck more.
My wild ass guess is there are more 4 and 6 cylinder turbo cars from factory out there now that require 93 instead of 87. More demand for it. Just a guess though, I have no data to back that theory up

It’ll hit 9 dollars for 93 by July 4th. Big question is, how high will it go that’ll make you say nope, I’m only driving when necessary. No more fun drives. When it hits 7 I’m tapping out on Sunday fun drives. Once it’s costing 100 dollars a tank or more, I’m out. I’m retired so I don’t commute and I really don’t have to drive. For those still working and commuting it’ll be tough. I don’t give two fucks about what Iran has or doesn’t have. Cut off the billions to Israel too. We want affordable gas and good affordable steaks. Even a spindly ass cut of beef is close to 30 dollars now.
We should cut money to all foreign countries and work on ourselves.

Shell premium has been about a buck more than regular for a lot longer than ten years now. Closer to 20 according to my wallet.

I think you need to add an extra ten or twenty years to get back to when it was 50c difference.

No shits given…

When asked by a reporter, "To what extent are Americans' financial situations motivating you to make a deal?" Trump responded directly: "Not even a little bit…I don't think about Americans' financial situations."

So don’t expect gas prices to be going down. CPI was 3.8 percent and new Fed chief wants to cut interest rates, that’ll make inflation go higher. Back to the Carter years of inflation.

$5.27 a gallon. I have to fill up every other day. The main reason is so high is due to the Whiting Refinery being shut down for over a month now. No known date as to when they will have the problem fixed.

And the talk about suspending the federal gas tax. That is like 20c per gallon. $3 whole bucks off my $81 fill up, amazing I will be able to afford coffee again.

And our roads will crumble even more, costing us more in the long run from damage to our vehicles.

A savings plan only the worlds most famous living pedophile (who also got us into this mess) could come up with, I'd say.

In '22 I was paying $4.80ish a gallon for 87 at Costco and went on a trip to Utah and never paid less than $5.40 a gallon on the entire trip for 87.

Gas prices were higher in 2022 than they are right now. Current average $4.50/gallon for regular. It was averaging $5.02 in 2022 before they started dipping into the strategic reserves.

I like the reasons of safety and bringing jobs back to America for higher gas prices more than the previous policy reason - GAS IS BAD AND NO ONE SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO BURN IT.
Agreed with Geep I have never ever seen the gas prices this high in my area since I've been born. These are easily the highest prices I've seen. Especially for regular gas.

I never remember well, but my web search confirms that in 2010 the difference between 87 and 93 was about $0.30 on average and now it's about $0.86.

Reasons will vary based on many details of what you do or don't want to believe.

I'm surprised you are so comfortable and confident in that opinion rather than just considering you might not remember. I don't pay much attention to gas prices. I think my biggest source of fun depends on fuel, so for me the price is worth it.

I looked it up rather than relying on memory.
