Those are indeed the individual part prices. I mean, they are CF, not gold. We'll see how Ford prices the caps for the DH SC and if they discourage price those as well. I'll bet they go for the throat with the wing even more so than they did on the 500. The fiber hood vent is going to be ridiculous as well.

While discussing skull caps I figure I may as well share what I know now because I can't remember anything anymore, so I wanted to post here now instead of the "Memento" like notes I have to leave around to remind myself of something I used to know.

It was pointed out to me that of the 3 part numbers I listed previously for the GTD skull caps, one of them was a "paint to match" listing and the part number started with the letter F. It's an old part number, dating back to earlier S550 Mustangs. The CF caps part numbers begin with the letter S. Long story short, the GTD skull caps fit the S550. But I highly doubt anyone is going to fork over that kind of bread. The Dark Horse SC "Carbon Fiber Appearance Package" (54A) will have a CF skull cap as well...

So within the 54A pkg is a pair of caps. Can't determine price without a part number. With Ford holding back listing parts, you have to have a VIN and then run a check on the HVBOM or Bill of Materials to find a part number at this point. VIN in hand, I asked the guru if he could help, and he did. Part numbers for the DH SC CF skull caps are:

TR3Z-17D742-AB
TR3Z-17D743-AB

List price for each side is $1,853. Not available as of yet, should be after 6/18. My guess is that none of these three variants will be the same which really makes no sense from a cost standpoint. So you'll have the Ford Performance CF caps (made in the US), the DH SC CF caps (made in ?), and the GTD CF caps (made in Canada by Multimatic?).

I originally felt that the $540 I paid for the pair of CF caps from Ford Performance was a bit silly but I no longer do when I look at the alternative pieces that serve the same function but at much higher prices. I wonder if you had a cap from each one if you could even tell the difference...

I doubt it unless the $1,800 caps also wipe your ass for you. Gotta charge extra for that 🤣

Are they bonding fiber to the abs plastic shell? That's what it looks like.

Yes might be can't remember but it a snug fit with the clips so it must be plastic.
