I agree. If they take aim at the Vette, it would have to be a new 2 seat model, not just an updated aluminum chassis'd S650 Mustang or something. That way the GTD owners could feel better about the GTD being the holy grail of all Mustang's while the new model could go after its market target.

I have a 2021 seller willing to sell a 71 mile CFTP for $105k, but I want to use the car, which would quickly depreciate that value. Its a double edged sword so to speak. Buy a low mile example and don't use it, it holds value pretty consistently. Buy one and put on 10k miles and you throw $15k down the drain. As an example, there is a CFTP with 50k miles being offered for $60k, so the price range varies greatly.
I don’t get the GT500 as an investment idea. Why buy it and not drive it? It’s not a 2005 Ford GT or a limited edition Porsche. There are many more investment options that will appreciate and even provide income.

I'm dealing on 2 others, same exact spec's with 4k miles $94k. Clean CarFax, 2 owner vehicles. I feel better about someone else taking the initial depreciation.
The S550 Shelby’s will do well long term. You won’t see another Ford Performance Shelby car anytime soon, if ever again. That alone will help values longer term. If you plan on driving it, I wouldn’t even worry about that. Find the one you like and enjoy

Depending on the year and specs it could be argued there’s almost no depreciation there from msrp to 94k from 2020-22 to now. I completely get the financial side but when we get to around six figures a few grand here or there really doesn’t matter. What I’m after specifically does. Things like time and enjoyment have more meaning, to me atleast. It’s a very cool problem(sarcasm) to have to be looking for one of these. If I had room I’d be after a base to change up.

Good stuff but I suspect he was speaking in generalities. It wouldn't make sense to use the same springs or damper calibration with the difference in wheel weight/frequency. When I can get a VIN I'll be able to see exactly what they did.
Did you ever find out what exactly is different between a base and one with the CFHP as far as springs, hubs, etc. and part numbers?

I like to disassemble things.
I did. IIRC, the CFHP utilized "Base" suspension hardware but CFTP hubs. I do not recall if the VDM used a Base or a unique calibration.

My understanding is hub itself is the same, studs are much longer. Std hubs are a bit cheaper, my plan was to get a set of them. If I trash hubs eventually tracking, would just swap studs. I think price difference was only $35 each, so for most people, guessing not worth doing what I am.

I've been doing research and it seems the front hubs are the same for base, cfhp and cftp (and GTD for that matter). Only rear hubs are different my guess the longer studs are to accommodate the 11.5 width rear wheel vs the base 11.

Your research is incorrect.

Yup. Same with the 350/R.

The only hub I can think of that may be robust than the latest 500 or SC hub would be for the GTD but I haven't looked.

Huh....Interesting. Hence the word seems. Thanks for that! I was putting my VIN in, one for a CFHP, and a CFTP and I got the rears as KR3Z1104A (and some sites add HUB476?) but maybe I got the fronts wrong. The rear description is this:

1772992750899-ul.webp

So I was like jackpot! Specifically says Carbon Fiber and the rear wheel 11.5. And then I searched the front ones and got this:

1772993125817-nz.webp

It doesn't say a specific wheel and just Shelby so I think the error was I assumed that was for ALL Shelbys. I see the B part has the painted aluminum wheels in the description.

I see the pictures the studs look shorter on this one than the other ones but dare I even assume the picture is the actual part.

But then there is this nearly identical part number for the front but it starts with F instead of K?

A google search of the difference, if the AI is right, seems to confirm your part numbers as the ones I need.

AI Overview

Based on the search results,
FR3Z-1109-A and KR3Z-1109-A are both genuine Ford front wheel bearing and hub assemblies, but they are designed for different vehicle applications and performance specifications.

Key Differences
  • FR3Z-1109-A (Mustang Performance/Standard): Primarily designed for the 2015–2022 Ford Mustang, specifically targeting models with Brembo brakes, Shelby GT350/GT350R, and MagneRide (magnetic damping).
  • KR3Z-1109-A (Shelby/High Performance): This part number is associated with high-performance Ford applications, frequently listed for Shelby GT350 and GT500 models. It is generally a more specialized, often more expensive, bearing hub assembly compared to the standard performance FR3Z part.
  • Application/Fitment: While there is overlap in the Shelby models listed (GT350), the KR3Z-1109-A is part of a newer or more specific high-performance catalog, often for the 2020+ GT500/GT350 variants.
  • Price: KR3Z-1109-A is significantly higher in cost (MSRP $569.09) compared to FR3Z-1109-A (MSRP $201.82).

I guess their site/dealer website parts platform is not as VIN specific as I thought. My VW I put the VIN in and whether the local dealer or national VW site it would always tell me not a fit for my specific VIN. I still was going to double check with the dealer but just wanted to have the correct ones going in to reassure myself the parts guy gets it right. These retail parts websites suck.
