I'm shopping for a CFTP now and I have a spreadsheet with about 40 for sale nationwide. Some really good lookin deals out there, some not so much.
If you find a CFTP for under $100k and it’s got a clean Carfax, move on it. It’s rare they go under $100k unless it’s got an accident or a bunch of miles

Well then there's about 25 of em that should go pretty quick.

Not quite ready yet, but I will be shortly, and when I am, I'll have all my choices lined up.

Good luck! Any specific colors you’re looking for?

Velocity Blue, Performance Blue, Iconic Silver. Staying away from the Grays for now, pretty common and I have 2 other gray vehicles. Neighbors might start thinkin I'm depressed. I could do a Rapid or Race Red if its the right car. Staying away from the Grabbers. Only CFTP.

Building a spreadsheet gave me a comparison across the country, gotten to where I can pretty much tell if somethings a good deal or not pretty quick. I know I still gotta do due diligence, could be things not reported to CarFax. I've only found 2 or 3 that are reporting wrecked. Couple of em have been repossessed. Lots have had multiple owners. Prolly people who normally flip from car to car pretty quickly.

Nice color choices. The two blues look fantastic on the 500, can’t go wrong with either one of those. Happy hunting

That's a decent price. I paid a bit more for mine earlier this year but way less miles and stripe delete. Someone added it to this black car - it wasn't optioned with it.

I've been shopping CFTP's since August `25. Around that time, the color palette was broad and the prices were within reason. As fall moved in, the prices spiked and kept me on the sidelines watching. Now, they are softening again and there are some decent cars available in the mid $90k range.
Since they produced white all three years, it appears that's one of the easier colors to obtain. While not my favorite for a GT500, it does hold the classic 1960's look.

Other than Ford's pending announcement on Jan 15th for the new halo model (presumed), what are some reasons why, knowing what you know as an owner, or previous owner, why to steer clear of the GT500?

Why to steer clear of a Gt500. Zero reasons. You just don’t hear negatives about the car. It’s about as good as it gets, especially at the price point. If you haven’t, try to drive one. The one thing you do hear is the third pedal nonsense. This will offend many, but very few can actually drive a car with 750-800hp with a manual in a straight line let alone on a road course. The dct in these cars is engineering art.

I plan to keep my Mach 1 to scratch that itch and I've watched countless reviews on how perfect the DCT is so that is a non issue.

Deciding whether I want to spin the wheel of fortune 3 weeks away from Ford making this so called announcement about a new car that could compete with Chevrolet is the biggest question. That announcement could swing prices $10k almost overnight.

The 500’s values stay pretty consistent for the most part, especially the nice examples(one or two owners). Be interesting to see what Ford actually releases, but I’d very surprised if it’s remotely around the price of what a Cftp is getting now. Even if it was a Cftp clone in todays dollars it’d probably be north of the 140-150k point. To compete with the ZR-1 if that’s the aim then who knows. If it’s in the same range 200k to start, it’ll hurt the Gtd buyers(myself included). I don’t see that short sighted decision happening, but then again.. This time of year most cars like this are down a bit just due to time of year. You could be correct about the swing as you put it, but then again the nice examples do that already. The real positive with all this is whatever your decision, if you decide to make the plunge so to speak, you’ll be able to enjoy it and have the peace of mind the car will keep it’s value. 197 500‘s, nice cars, bring msrp and above. Not many cars offer that.

I agree. If they take aim at the Vette, it would have to be a new 2 seat model, not just an updated aluminum chassis'd S650 Mustang or something. That way the GTD owners could feel better about the GTD being the holy grail of all Mustang's while the new model could go after its market target.

I have a 2021 seller willing to sell a 71 mile CFTP for $105k, but I want to use the car, which would quickly depreciate that value. Its a double edged sword so to speak. Buy a low mile example and don't use it, it holds value pretty consistently. Buy one and put on 10k miles and you throw $15k down the drain. As an example, there is a CFTP with 50k miles being offered for $60k, so the price range varies greatly.

$105K for that mileage is a good price. Drive it and enjoy it.

I'm dealing on 2 others, same exact spec's with 4k miles $94k. Clean CarFax, 2 owner vehicles. I feel better about someone else taking the initial depreciation.
