I would say it has to be tunable. The S650 is and the same engine on the 500 is. So my guess is that it will be tunable. If not, will not be long.

I changed my supercharger for the extra power. Just a secondary was the heat soak issue. Hard track day in summer it still gets hot and pulls power but not as quick. Next purchase will be a new heat exchanger and secondary coolant that whipple sells. Definitely keeping my 500 over buying a new DHSC. It would have been tempting if they did a little more.
Is the DCT tunable in Any platform? I thought it was still locked by Ford and Tremec.

Likes: Drivetrain, body lines, wing/ducktail and taillights, carbon ceramic brakes, new car smell

Dislikes: Front end, the teal colors, the paint style on the hood on the special editions, hood vent style,

Undecided: Dash, Exhaust tips.

It's all about the price point from here out. Under $125k for the top shelf car and it's a winner. $150k msrp, and I'm not having it.

Subaru vibes:

The one thing I really don't like about this front end is several grille textures going on at once. Not sure why the outer cooler vent grilles weren't it across the board.

And while I'm griping about styling, has anybody thrown an angle finder on the decklid/taillight panel? Is it 90 degrees? Yuck.

The engine in the IMSA Mustang GT3 car is wicked. It's a coyote 5.0 bored out to 5.4. This would be a nice street car in either manual or DCT. I would prefer a manual. I personally would love Ford to offer this engine in a production car but they would need to move production of the engine in house though.
You can't bore a 5.0 out to 5.4

The 5.2 is safe without a fuel system on 93 around 900 hp. You already have a dual pump setup that can handle it.
True, lower compression it’s 9.5:1 not 12:1 like the coyote.

the grill is going to be the designer’s regret for a long time. It just doesn’t work. It’s the same old honeycomb pattern from the 70s, now flush with the body on the bottom, yet somehow trying to do that on the top, but caving in in the middle there, flanked by two nostril things that don’t flow with anything except matching the inexplicable exhaust tips on the back. In short, it’s a visual mess.

Others have said it resembles the zl1 and I agree. The hood looks like a direct xerox copy. But honestly, the zl1 looked better than this. And Thsys just really sad. The sleek, stylish gt500 of 2020 has been turn into a dark horse with the fascia of a truck. Better be a whole heck of a lot of horsepower on tap to distract from those looks. Whatever happened to “poster car?”

I wouldn't solely blame the designer, that hideous truck nose was approved by Ford. Maybe "Woke" infected the team and they were to afraid to say it sucks and go back and come up with something better. Corporations these days are all about it.

Those that can remember when the Camaro was first cancelled back in 2002 will recall that the Mustang development stalled. Especially the engine. From 2002-2009 it barely improved relative to other performance engines of the day. Once the Camaro returned Ford came out with the Coyote engine to compete. S550 GT500 had the 6th gen Camaro ZL1 as its bar. It beat it in acceleration and hp, but not in other ways (grip, braking, handling, etc.). There was no way Ford was going to move the needle with this S650 DHSC without a ZL1 to push it along. It’s a rebadged GT500. Which was a great car. No complaints from me on reusing the Predator. Great engine.

good analysis. If you are happy with the NEW dhsc being a rebadged OLD GT500, so be it.

but that’s what it is. Bare minimum investment.

as for me and many others here and elsewhere, history has taught us to expect much, much more. It’s just a sad era right now.

I'm not moved. At first glance it seems like Ford couldn't decide on the styling between the GTD and the GT500. Seems like people either love it or hate it. I don't hate it . Probably would like it better in person.

This just might be a top tier Mustang that you can buy under sticker once any initial ADM hype dies off (depending on pricing).

That's how "meh" I feel about the whole package.

Bare minimum investment, indeed.

Watch what you say, I was born here, educated here, and I'm American as they get. Don't assume $hit because of someone's name. You don't know me at all, so don't make accusations. I have never been "woke" and never will be. I called it out, or can't you read Troll?

Can you tell him to relay to marketing that people REALLY hate the names they are putting out?

They have been nothing but screwups since they tried to name the Mach-E the Mach1.
As I understand it FoMoCo had to use the "Mach" name plate for the E-Vehicle to comply with government regulation. In order to give us the Mach 1 there had to be an EV with the same name plate. So it wasn't that FoMoCo wanted to by choice give the "Mach" name to an EV. Not many people know this from what I understand.
