Well looks like we’re getting another Dark Horse based off Fords Mustang account on instagram.
The new Mustang variant has been out there for a while as far as spy shots go. Hopefully this new Vette competitor is something completely different…

Dark Horse SC it is I guess. Supercharged 5.2L with 800+ hp? DCT? What are we thinking here? I'm pretty certain there will be no 6MT option.

This guy copied the teaser from Ford Mustang’s story. Definitely supercharged Dark Horse from the sound

It's a bit of a letdown as I doubt its gonna be killing any Corvettes from what I see so far...but always interesting and cool Ford is still updating the Mustang rather than axing it.

If this is all there is I’ll prob be disappointed. But withholding judgement until the full reveal

Will see what actually comes out. But I thought they already had the DH, the DH S, and the DH R. I believe the S was street legal still. So is it the S, but with a SC 5.2? That could potentially be an interesting car.

It's not killing any Corvettes. A Mustang is a brick, a Corvette is an arrow. Can't overcome physics with horsepower.

I hope to be proven wrong one day.

You mean Fathouse...

Plus the Corvette is emissions legal, doesn't need to use e85, they make more than ten per year...

I realize I'm pointing out the obvious, BUT, 90% of quarter mile times are made up of the first 60'. That said, imagine what an aerodynamic, say a GT, type car could do with the same powerplant?

Then let's go to the back stretch of CotA and see what each car can do. Not to mention, any one of the 20 corners.

I realize I am the 1% of the 1%, but give me a DH that has had a massive diet, with sphericals everywhere, solid bushings, and an A-Arm suspension. Now we are talking.

agreed on all…but not the point, since physics was the stated issue 😉

They never did a DH S, just the R which is not street legal.

Based on the pictures, its underwhelming to me anyway. Its essentially an S650 - GT500 reboot without the name. We'll have to wait for performance numbers, but its likely going to slot somewhere between the 2020-2022 GT500 and the GTD.

I was honestly hoping for something more aggressive in styling/aero than anything. This looks a little vanilla to me. If this is the "corvette killer", Ford isn't wrong beating up on a base Sting Ray, but its really just a marketing gimmick.
