they'll create a category killer 4dr again and instead of reviving the marauder/vic, they will instead bring back the ford 500 moniker
or perhaps the inspire 2.0...

That's the driver, not the car thoughWhat is the definition of "Corvette Killer"? Is Ford just going to chase numbers, or do they want a car that will destroy the C8 on a road course? If it is the latter, they really need to recalibrate all of the nannies. In my conversations with C8 owners, this is what holds the car back on the track. If Ford put the Dark Horse on a significant diet and made a true "track mode" with little to no interruptions to the driver's skill, I think that would be what it takes to kill a Corvette. Put a 5.2 Predator in it to hang with, or kill the Z06. Now the ZR-1........good luck Ford.
I have seen numerous C5-C8 corvettes at the track and, quite frankly, I have only been impressed by the C8Z06. My Mach 1 and my GTI lap as fast, or faster than all of the others. I attached a "Corvette killing highlight reel" of me in my GTI.
I know my n=1, but I just have not been impressed with Corvettes at the track.
Yep. A new Mustang spec'd like my '15 is over $60K as you say. No thanks.Ah the new Mustang Dark Horse MEGABOSS Cobra.
Ford already has enough Mustangs that the average person can't afford, they don't need another one. What they need is to bring down EcoBoost and GT prices and give them a mid-cycle refresh to make the front less ugly.
We need a cheaper EcoBoost with an SVO trim.
A GT that isn't over 60K when fully loaded, or over 50K with just basic options.
The more I see Ford only caring about high-end trims and levels the less I care about Ford.
Dude, Golf R. "Babe, I got a really reliable daily for you that is AWD. It's nothing special. I don't really know what DSG means, probably Does Snow Good."Yep. A new Mustang spec'd like my '15 is over $60K as you say. No thanks.
On the bold, not to mention everything they build keeps getting bigger. Bought the wife a new Escape ST-Line earlier this year, and word on the street says the Escape is dead. Wife doesn't want (or need) anything bigger, and the daily driver garage is packed enough with the Escape and my F150 crammed into it.
Just recently we had the discussion that maybe we should have bought a GTI instead since it's the right size, just no AWD. Argh.
Anyway, back to unattainable dream cars.....
Oh, I know. But the R means I have to have a set of winter tires/wheels laying around. Not necessarily the case with the GTI.Dude, Golf R. "Babe, I got a really reliable daily for you that is AWD. It's nothing special. I don't really know what DSG means, probably Does Snow Good."
I do love the GTI. What a solid car, over every generation!
Everything is getting bigger and more expensive. It’s wild. Been car shopping for my wife, GMC stretched the Acadia by almost a foot in length and 6-7” in width compared to her current Acadia. It’s almost as big as prior gen Tahoe’s.Yep. A new Mustang spec'd like my '15 is over $60K as you say. No thanks.

Prior to the Escape, she had two Tiguans back to back, 2009 and 2018 (basically the same rig other than trim). The Escape is about 2" wider and 6" longer than the Tigs were, and she was not amused. I seriously thought I had made a big mistake. She finally warmed to the Escape, but the features and gadgets helped (the better part of 15 years driving basically the same vehicle and being familiar with it was the main issue).Everything is getting bigger and more expensive. That’s one reason she likes the new Explorer. Pretty much the same size as her current car. She really liked the ST when she drove it, so that’s likely what she’s going to get.
As for price, everything is more expensive. The average new car price here in the US has now exceeded $50K. With that in mind, the Mustang price isn’t terrible (I know, it’s way more than the S550’s).
I have a feeling whatever Ford is cooking to compete with the Vette won’t be a Mustang. I don’t think they resurrect an old nameplate, they don’t seem to want to cling to the past (ala Dark Horse). But, it could be in the same spirit as the T-Bird was.
While we’re wish listing, can Ford please bring back a sedan and maybe a hatch? Tired of 10 different SUV and truck options with no car options
Had a new Tiguan as a rental a couple weeks ago. Really nice car but felt severely underpowered, especially when merging onto the highway.Prior to the Escape, she had two Tiguans back to back, 2009 and 2018 (basically the same rig other than trim). But I really wish the GTI talk would have happened when I was looking....
I drove a last-gen Tiguan and thought the same thing (they were bigger too). The ones we had were better in that respect and pretty fun to drive.Had a new Tiguan as a rental a couple weeks ago. Really nice car but felt severely underpowered, especially when merging onto the highway.
GTI would be a fun little car for sure
Yes we need a sedan choice. I still miss my 05 Crown Vic w/ sport package. I liked that car better than the MKS's I had afterwards. While we’re wish listing, can Ford please bring back a sedan and maybe a hatch? Tired of 10 different SUV and truck options with no car options
