My car has the 4g LTE Hotspot, how many of your guy’s got it?
Mine has it, but I unplugged the modem to keep the car from reporting my info back to the mother ship. I have a manual so the only thing I would use the modem for is remote start using Fordpass anyway, and that is a moot point to me... I don't trust big brother from spying on me :)

And on my window sticker it looks like I paid for them to remove it, lol.
It’s actually a $20 credit to you. I have the same on my window sticker. Believe it was a Covid shortage thing if I remember correctly. They stopped installing them (because they didn’t have them) and gave a $20 credit

I'm not either, but if it serves no purpose for me, I would rather not worry about them getting info they have no business knowing. I heard of friends insurance doubling even though they had zero reason to go up. I know its across the board increasing for everybody but I know the data is mined and sold at an alarming rate.

That’s what I always read, chip shortage. I Believe my previous 2023 GT and 2023 Mach 1 did not have the hotspot and had it deleted. As I mentioned my current 2022 Mach 1 does have it.

I suppose the ultimate confirmation is the window sticker. This is what I've found:

2021: listed in the functional equipment section of the 2021 order guide, all Mustangs, Page 1.

2022: listed under the EcoBoost functional equipment section only.

2023: under the functional equipment section of all Mustangs. Option 17W (delete) is listed, all Mustangs.

A common concern at the time was discrepancies in order guides and at the Ford web site. The differences between guides for this feature is confirmation of that.

I checked my window sticker. I appear to have that feature. 2022.

I've never studied it until now. IDK what it would have cost if the owner continued with the subscription.

On my early 2023 build (P0389) the window sticker shows 4G LTE WI-FI HOTSOPT REMOVAL -$20.00.

Why would you go with this tank if it is smaller capacity? Isn't it better to go with bigger, hence better cooling?
In terms of looks it is great.
Small enough difference as to be no difference. We are talking about two cups of fluid. I don't track the car or drive in an excessively hot part of the country. For me the look it worth the difference. I couldn't stand the huge white plastic bubble that the factory installs, and the metal ones always look a bit out of place to me unless you have made a lot of other complimentary changes.

I kinda thought the only way to remote start is if you have the auto transmission because the manual requires that the clutch pedal is depressed to the interlock switch ? Or I miss interpret your statement that is the only way you would use the modem is to remote start IS IF you had the auto transmission ?

Yes, hence why I don't need the app, I only used it for remote start on my GT that was an auto. All the other stuff is just fluff...

I edited my response to further clarify my thinking. I didn’t realize you had an auto also In the past.
Carry on.

agreed. I haven’t disabled it because I could give a crap if anybody knows how fast I’m driving. The only thing I use it for is to see how many points I have and to see what my oil life is because I’m lazy and don’t check it in the car.

Yeah I don't give 2 shits about any of that. I change my oil on set intervals, 5k on the dot every time, I don't listen to the computer, I don't use points...

Yep. The only reason I check the oil percent is my car is driven so little that the clock is ticking and I wanna make sure that I get it changed even though I haven’t hit 5000 miles.

I am trying to train myself to drive it more. I took it out today on a small little trip just to get the engine revving.

I am almost getting to the point where it is not worth having in the garage. I love it to death but working from home it just sits.

Yeah I put 13k miles on mine in the last year. And it only goes out on the weekends...
