No I meant holding the start button instead of just one push. Im not sure if it only works when the car detects an issue with the clutch switch, but on my car I killed the switch once and was able to circumvent the issue that way.I tried holding the button and brake at same time and push starter button. It's way harder than you think, and im skinny.
I fixed it with a bolt and nut but theirs got to be a cleaner solution. BTW all no lift shift issues are gone. Posting this in case anyone else is experiencing issues like this.
Calm down speed racer! This MAY have something to do with me testing the no lift shift feature on my tune lol. Found some broken yellow plastic thing on the floorboard
And i promised I wouldn't beat on this car, but my health isn't so great so this will likely be my last car. F it. Gotta enjoy it while im hereCalm down speed racer!![]()
You might find a rubber vacuum cap that fits over the head of that bolt![]()
Temp fix till I find a wider head bolt
@compucarnut You need to buy a replacement pedal switch. The gears inside wear down and then it gets stuck in the depressed position. You can pull it out w/ a bit of force, and then it will just do it again. The plastic piston wears out. It's not a lot to replace. https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog...+pedal+position+/+starter+safety+switch,16665
I can't recall the post or steps, but I believe you need to have the parking brake on, car in neutral, and hold in the start button in for a few seconds. I know it definitely works because I had to do it.Yeah that holding the start button thing doesn't work. I read that article. Mine just kept blinking green. Im trying to come up with an unbreakable solution because how that clutch sensor is mounted looks flimsy as hell
Well then drive it like it's stolen! And i promised I wouldn't beat on this car, but my health isn't so great so this will likely be my last car. F it. Gotta enjoy it while im here
