Front tires - inner edges down to cords

Hello; I agree with others that toe is the likely cause especially with the photos.

I do not know if the tires are square or staggered on your car. If square a rotation ought to get some more mileage.

Never realized how critical toe setting was. I modified lower control arms on a Subaru and got the alignment settings close enough to drive to an alignment shop and the toe-out made the car unstable enough to notice and even trigger a stability control code for a steering angle fault.

Took the Mach 1 for an alignment and found fronts with a bit of toe out:

Camber Left -1.7 Right -1.7
Toe Left -.08 Right -.06

Had Toe adjusted to .00 and camber remained the same for now and will monitor.

Also migrated to Continental Extreme Contact Sport 2s on front…will do rears in fall.

Hello; Please check for recommended toe specs somewhere. I do not know what such may be for your car. Something I picked up somewhere over time has been to have the toe slightly IN. I do not swear by this but the reason as I understood it was the slight slack in the steering linkages would allow the toe to move out just a bit. I guess from drag on the road when driving.

But the alignment shops I use have the car specific specs in their shop.

This is true. However modern cars do not have as many pivot points so this is less of a factor today. That said I still like a small amount of toe in. This has 2 effects. 1, like you said takes up any slack and 2, is more stable at high speeds.
