I love them on the street. I will get another set of wheels for the track with MT/SS I had trouble launching these at the track. Street is perfect though. 11.40s @124 with a not so good launch at the track. Final tire size OD is transmission friendly. No issues. I do highly recommend this set up
Nice dude, what do you mean "final tire size OD is transmission friendly"

Sometimes I get lazy after a day at the drags and don't get around to putting my street wheels back on. 305 RIIs in the back.

I run them at the same pressure as the track (20-ish, didn't see an improvement with lower pressure with my slow car) and to be honest it drives great. I've hung a few turns to see how they handle, and while I am not pushing it hard in the corners, I didn't notice a difference.

If you were really pushing it on the twisties, sure. But daily, seems fine to me.

I run pp1 wheels with street tires and 17x10s with R2s and alternate through out the year. I put around 10k on the R2s each year DDing it with no issues. I do keep the pressure at 28psi cold because if how many miles I put in them. DRs do wear quicker so your only down side should be replacing tires more often.

You can also do the chalk test. Put some thick chalk across the rear tires, drive forward until it starts to wear off, and adjust pressure until it comes off evenly. You'll see right away if it's wearing off in the middle, outsides or evenly at the pressure you are running.

I've heard so much about street tire pressure with these DRs that it's hard to know what to believe.

I haven't done that yet.

For a daily I run a 19" Nitto, 24psi

Wonder if a 17" would be worth it on the street. It's a stick so it's never going to go hard off the line but I can hit 2nd at a 40 roll and that's good enough
sidewall is good.

Water works as well.

Running pizza cutters on the street .... suck hahaha.
IF you use the ideal rim width @ the recommended pressure
(for your particular DR - consult manufacturer for starting points)
it'll make full tread contact with the ground.

10k miles roughly. I do About 25k miles a year and use the DRs About 4 months out if the year or so. Once they get under 4/32 grip does suffer compared to when they are newer but I usually ride them out to get my moneys worth.

Hell yea! Mine are getting low on tread from to many burn outs haha. I am thinking of switching to MT street SS for a more drag performance set up since I don't really drive in the rain and am looking for a better 1/4 mile this year.

I'd definitely switch to mickeys if your not worried about rain. I like the R2s for the versatility and I put a lot of miles on my gt so I stick with then for my DRs.

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to check in with a basic question.

2018 pp1 10r80 5.0 and I enjoy driving the car to work and for errands a couple times a week/ends. I like the run what you brung mentality and enjoy the car with its drag set up on.

Is there any concern for driving around like this frequently? Or driving it for 200 miles with the set up? How much would it affect the spedo?

17x10 VMS wheels with 305/45/17 nitto 555r2's.

Thanks for any advice.

2019 GT 10R80 drag pack
Using 17x10 bead lock Welds with MT SS street 305s (rear)
20x10 AM GT 500 wheels with 265/40 Nitto 01s up front.
No issues on street , but don’t try it in the rain.
