I’ll throw this in here since it is a shocker for me. Now that we are here in Florida she wants to get rid of the BMW convertible and she wants a manual retractable roof Bronco. She has not told me what color she wants but eruption green is a possibility. I am not against this but I’ve never owned anything but two door cars in my entire life. For the most part. Thoughts?

I hear you but if she wants a retractable roof I gotta go four-door which is not my game but I will at least look at them because happy wife makes happy life. I never thought I would own an SUV type vehicle in my life.

Does anybody have the retractable roof that can show me a picture of it down?

My Bronco is my DD/winter vehicle and as practical as I go for a car. Driving it back to back with a Wrangler and Tacoma, I liked the Bronco a lot more. Years ago I had a 350Z and a XJ.

I have the 4dr hard top, usually only take the two front panels off. Thinking about getting the Bestop Sunrider or Skyrider at some point.

I do not regret buying a 4 door with the Mustang being my other car. The Mustang and the 4 door Bronco are almost exactly the same length. I regularly fill it with friends or coworkers when going out 2-3x a week. The backseat in the 2 door may have headroom and legroom, but egress in and out is quite bad and storage is substantially less. I had an opportunity to compare both side by side before purchasing, 2 door Badlands vs 4 door Wildtrak. If you do not need the back seat ever, go 2 door and remove it. The rear seat does not even come close to folding flat in the 2 door.

I am not a truck person, and I see a lot of Bronco owners have a big truck as the other vehicle and the 2 door Bronco is their toy.

In 2007 when my wife's T-Bird's transmission had issues, I gave my wife the option of a convertible or a van replacement. She chose van for hauling grandchildren. She never regretted it, because grandchildren were her greatest blessings at that phase of life.
Fast forward to 2020...we got a convertible for her to enjoy her other adult-life dream.
So, @The Demon, with the 4-door Bronco your wife will have the best of both worlds, a hauler when family visits (they will now that you live in FL) and a convertible. :like:

The Wrangler has the retractable roof. But again are stuck with a 4 door. I had a Bronco. Was a 22 and went back to a Wrangler. The Bronco was such a poorly built POS. Had body panels separating, turbo went, rear diff went and then at 12k miles the trans started to have issues. Not to mention the awful wind noise inside that the Wrangler just didn’t have. Maybe they’ve fixed some of the issues. But I wouldn’t buy another.

Spend some time on the Bronco forums. They have their share of issues, yet plenty have a great experience.

Ridiculously long story story short, I wanted to buy a Bronco in '22 and ended up ordering my '23 JL Rubicon instead (my fifth Wrangler). Absolutely zero regrets. Its ZF8 transmission made me realize how terrible the A10 is in my F150.

It remains beyond my comprehension why a 2-door Bronco can't be ordered with a ragtop, although I wouldn't want the flip-up abomination for rear access that the 4-door is plagued with.....

I'm a Ford guy through and through. I do like the looks of the bronco but after having 15 jeeps in my life that all got 4 wheeled up in NE I would never get bronco over a Rubicon. Super 44 Solid axles. Zf8. It may ride a bit different but the offroad capabilites is
unsurpassed.

ZF8 for the win, great transmission. Key reason I went Jeep Gladiator (Mojave). Everything else may fall apart, but not the transmission lol.
