No, I had mine done a few weeks ago. They opened the trunk, pulled the cover and then unwrapped the harness. They put a small flexible fiberglass rod into the harness and rewrapped the harness. It’s supposed to keep the harness from getting pinched when you shut the trunk. The mobile tech said many cars weren’t affected but some got pinched and broke the wires. All in all it took less than 20 minutes and they sent the mobile technician to do it. He didn’t find anything but did the bulletin anyway. I had put mine off thinking they were going to do something with the stereo and I didn’t want them messing with it. I got tired of the robo texts and decided to get it done.As the title states, for those that had the recall work done for the rear camera, did the techs need to get behind the infotainment console or does the wiring connect somewhere else?
I’m asking because my CarPlay switches on and off intermittently when the car is hot/warm. As soon as it cools down, the connection is solid, and I can speed up the process by closing the vents with the AC on high. I’ve already replaced the module in the center armrest, so my suspicion is a loose connection behind the screen that contracts once cooled.
Was hoping they have to get behind to replace the rear camera wiring and could make sure all the other connections are tight.
