Looks fantastic I do agree, I have noticed GSF doesn't "cling" to a coated vehicle quite as good. Shine Supply Shift and ADS Shampoo+ do the same thing.. And it doesn't have the secondary bubbles when rinsing either like Reset does.... I don't mind, it works really well...

And yes, the swivel is very helpful, that was a great investment on my part.

That’s odd, I noticed the secondary surfactants in my GFX. Wonder if it’s a product of the special scent additive? AFAIK it’s the same soap as GSF, just scented differently.

the coating is rejecting the soap,

I had the same experience when I did my first wash after applying the ADS coating. I used Shampoo+ (keep it all in the same family) and the coating was rejecting the soap. Both from the foam cannon as well as from the bucket. The good thing is, I could see the soap taking the dirt with it as the coating pushed it away. So from that perspective, it still works as intended. Just looks a little funny/blotchy on the car

Well day 3 is in the books. Covered the top with a bed sheet, covered the wheels with my Gyeon covers, taped up all the trim and got to polishing. The hood had hideous leftover sanding marks from the body shop that they did a hit and miss polish job . Fortunately I measured the paint and it was a LOT thicker than the rest of the car so I hit the hood a lot harder, used KCx Heavy cut and their matching pad. Then followed with Essence. Hit the rest of the car with essence as well, it turned out pretty good, not perfect, but its a daily driver that has had body work front and rear (paint match is horrific in places) so I just glossed it up as good as I could and called it a day... Coating tomorrow, then finish the interior..

HELLUVA job, Alex..WELL DONE especially considering the condition of the paint when you got it. Funny but I've come to like the persistent little Reset bubbles. <smile> I'm also of the belief that some of you are even more obsessive than I. <grin>

Truth is, I don't hold a candle in most cases. <bigger grin> A big part of that difference is age and I wish I had the energy to do more these days which is why I'm so grateful to the rest of you for handling the testing part of the equation..many thanks.

Man I have to agree with that. Things that I could do in a single day maybe 2 take a week now, I wish I could wind the clock back about 25 years and have the energy I had back then. This job is already half way thru day 4 and I haven't even started on the interior. I did just finish up the coating. I did do the vacuuming though, just gotta clean up the seats, dash, clean out the nasty cup holders and the huge billboard screen . Then clean the glass. Dress the tires and I'm done.

Day 4, and I'm done That was a JOB... Prep wipe this morning, then laid down ADS Quartz coating... Then went over the interior, cleaned the seats, dash, etc. Cleaned all the glass inside and out... Backed outside in the sun to look for high spots and check my work. For all the issues the paint has, I am overall really pleased...

I can easily tell how much depth and crispness that polishing and coating has done for that car. A job well done.

How bad was the Space Gray leather?

Had to replace both the washing machine and dishwasher this week. It was Ranger to rescue, picking up the new units and the disposal of the old machines. I hadn't planned on doing a wash today, but it's been raining and the disposal site covered in mud. So, the Ranger got a second wash this week.

My last rinse-less wash experience didn't go to plan, a week later and things were much better today..........................

Considering the road film and dirt was still wet, and therefore not bonded to the paint, I cut a few corners. First, I went around and rinsed each wheel, then foamed the whole car with KCx Active Foam. While the soap dwelled on the paint, I gave each wheel and tyre a quick once over with a brush, then rinsed the whole car down, followed by a quick blow with the EGO. Moved into the garage, I mixed up EcoWash to the waterless rate and sprayed the car down. From there, my large Gauntlet towels were used to wipe off the EcoWash, and a second dry towel to finish. No drying aid required.

I've only used EcoWash a few times, but wow, what a great product! The slickness and gloss it leaves behind is epic, and like most Gyeon products, it smells amazing too. Oh, and I didn't need to polish the whole car afterwards.

The seats weren't too bad to clean, they were indeed really dirty she rides with the top down a LOT and her grand kids are in the back seat a LOT too... Has done several parades and that means feet on the seats .... Anyway, an Autofiber scrub pad or 3 and KCx MZR mixed 5:1 in a KCx foamer made short work of the seats (I LOVE that stuff). A quick wipe of a damp towel afterward and once dry I used some leftover Gyeon Leather Coat on them...

EcoWash closer to Capro ECH20 than the usual suspects, so you tend to use more of it. I'd say its a little bit easier to work with than ECH20.

Well that kinda makes sense. I have a 500 mil bottle of ECH20 I have had for 2 years, still have some left... I rarely to never use it, I always grab the next shiny new thing kinda like Beadmaker, I have had a liter bottle leftover forever. I haven't used it in over a year now that I have found better options.

As you should be amigo, you gave that vehicle at least four full days of hard work and I hope the owner is ecstatic because it would have cost her mucho pesos to have all that work done by a professional. Not that you're not a pro, I'd say you've earned that distinction bigtime and the car looks fantastic!

My friend I am constantly wondering WHAT is going to break next around here and I am mighty sorry about the double appliance failure, that sucks and especially so with two going south at the same time. Probably the worst is the cost of the replacements these days, too.

So, did you get both the new units installed and operational? At least you hopefully won't have to worry about either of those for a long, long time.

She is calling out of work today and coming about noon to pick it up. I am really excited to see her reaction. I have sent the same pictures to her as I have here, so she has seen the progress... But in person it does look really good. I of course can see all the little flaws and I cringe, but to 95% of the public, the car is STUNNING...

And yes, she is paying me, I am not charging nowhere near the going rate, but she has at least covered my supplies and maybe MAYBE minimum wage for my time But the enjoyment I got out of the project makes it worth it to me, it was worth taking a week away from the "Job" to do something I enjoy... Plus huge exposure for perhaps more "customers" in the future. You never know, this old man might want to start up a full time shop some time, its a great skill to have...
