Saw a beautiful 2019 Convertible GT at Baker's Restaurant in Milford, Michigan but I couldn't track down the owner to find out more about the fixed rear calipers and parking brake provision. Does anyone recognize these calipers (or the car?) to shed more light on such a slick looking upgrade?

its gotta be a caliper cover , i cant tell from the pic and angle but the rotor isnt large and isnt a gt350 or gt500 rear rotor . Its gotta be a caliper cover but that angle doesn't show it

If it's a cover it's a very elaborate one. It appears to have a bleeder and through pins and lots of contours. Every cover I have seen is just a flat piece with rounded edges.

Yes, it is a caliper cover. You can tell that from the faux brake line barely visible at the bottom of the caliper cover.

An actual rear brake is a bit more that $228

True, but at least you get an actual performance improvement with the real brakes. But I suppose some people are just into "looks".

I completely understand but $228 for for just covers does seem like a lot. Also, if that gentleman decides to track that car, the standard rear brake gets unbelievably hot, so I’m not sure how that would work out…. The first thing to go on my Mach 1 was the powdercoating and pistons seals on that rear brake. This is why wound up swapping them out. They were wearing so much faster than the front brakes with two piece rotors and DTC pads. I’ve included a few pictures of just how hot they get and what they look like when they were new. Just as caution for somebody who wanted to run covers on something they plan to take on track.

Absolutely, I would never spend that much money just for appearance sake. I'd rather spend it on improving the actual brakes. Of course I won't because I don't track the car anyway. Besides, I balk at spending $200 on seat covers unless they really fit perfectly without looking like seat covers.

I've seen the same covers on Temu for 20 bucks.
