Manual tranny? If so, that sounds like normal gear rollover noise.

The sound tube makes no noise outside the car.
Does sound a little like a diesel. Goes along with the typewriter tick and 2000 rpm knock, Ford says is all normal. My 2018 makes none of these ‘normal’ noises. Mine must be abnormal.

My bad’ thought video was from outside car. That could be sound tube. Although I used a db meter before and after removing sound tube. No difference in sound or db level.

Its a muscle car, its suppose to be noisy and unrefined. LOL I get it though, but the noise is not something to be alarmed about. It is just the injectors and a reminder that you have a V8 under the hood while most other cars are getting smaller engines.

If people want refined and quiet, get a Maserati... those are so refined and quiet, you won't hear anything as it sits parked on the side of the freeway after it breaks down. 😋

I've never heard my mustang make that noise, but my work truck with a 5.0 absolutely sounds like a diesel at idle, similar to your video but even worse. I also thought it might have been developing a knock... nope! Turns out those are normal sounds per Ford and a lot of it comes from the high pressure fuel pump and the fuel rails. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Wild.

Or better still, if you want really quiet, buy an EV. The Mach-e is really quiet.

Hi Ersin,

I don't hear anything unusual unless the noise is a drastic change from how the engine normally sounds. I don't know your age or experience level with V-8 performance engines but the Coyote is one gloriously noisy aluminum block engine with the mysterious "typewriter tick," piston slap claims, loud direct injection system, dual overhead cam and associated valve train noise, and a host of other disconcerting sounds. I grew up on big block muscle car engines that were so quiet in comparison I stopped worrying about the Coyote clatter as long as it keeps running strong and oil analysis is "clean." Ditch the sound tube and run a loud exhaust to offset some of the engine noise and enjoy.
