Here's how I see it. If I did all of these mods on the car, and invested so much of my time and money in it, it would be my baby. If I was to sell it, I would sell it to a person who is interested in the platform, understands these mods, and will take good car of the car for years to come. If you sell your "baby" to a dealership, you're just trying to get rid of it. Its like leaving a child with a babysitter and running away forever lol. This tells me, that the last owner was maybe having issues that he was not willing to deal with, got rid of the car just to get something else that is more reliable. The flip side is that maybe someone who wanted something newer traded it in however I'm more inclined to think the former.

In either event, there are things that usually need to be done before going forced induction. Things such as the oil pump gear, crank gear, timing tensioners and etc if you actually care about your engine. Its impossible to know if it was done without pulling the timing cover off. Second is the transmission. Usually, if the car is a 6spd which I assume it is, people will change the clutch and throwout bearing when going with forced induction. Also cannot tell if this was done and in what condition the clutch and flywheel is. That right there could set you back 2k on the spot. If the car has drag radials, it was probably raced. A lot. The transmission could be on its last leg. That is just the beginning of it.

You seem to lean towards pulling the trigger. I know 700+hp is enticing but if you will do it, make sure you drive the car and have someone look at it. I mean check all fluids, boroscope the cylinders, check compression, check the flywheel and clutch, and whatever else he/she can come up with.
Very well put and I appreciate the insight. As I said i'm new to the GT S550 platform and have a 2020 GT500. So I understand the stress the drivetrain etc goes through on boosted cars, ESPECIALLY ones that didn't come boosted from the factory. I was just in the market to get a manual mustang and came across this particular one. In any event, I did just find out that the clutch was changed about a year ago. The car is not on drag radials. The original owner (according to the carfax) had it for 9 years, and the second owner less than 1. I'm only guesstimating that the car was a garage queen since it's only got 55k miles on it and it's 10 years old, but as you said who really knows.

My guess would be that the person who had it for less than a year, slapped a bunch of mods on it, beat the crap out of it, then when something went wrong, dumped it to the dealership. The dealer bought it cheap, "fixed" whatever the issues were (aka BandAid), and is trying to push it for a good profit. Do you have a listing on the car by any chance?

Ok ok fellas, this thread seems to be a mix of a lot of buy it don't buy it lol....no need to be negative was just curious on everyones opinions.
I don't really see anyone being particularly negative.
And aren't "buy it" / "don't buy it" exactly the opinions you have asked for?

We, as a forum, have seen a lot of recently purchased modded cars turn to crap pretty quickly. And we've seen a few be gems. But people mostly don't come to forums to brag about the great buy they got. They mostly come to complain, or ask help for, the problems they bought.

Buying any used car, even with the best due diligence, is a crap shoot at best. A modded car simply has a considerably higher chance of problems cause granny didn't add a blower to go get groceries...

understandable....but isn't the point of a forum to complain or ask for help? lol

I would buy it if you have 10k set aside repairs. That goes with any performance car really.
My thoughts exactly, you really can't go into this sport without having some overhead.

To be honest, it looks pretty clean and from the video sounds like its running great. Idk in either case approach it with caution and expect the unexpected especially dealing with private dealerships. It sounds like you already have a car and this would be sort of a project car. For that purpose I think it will be ok if you have time and money to work on it or have someone else work on it.

hahaha it still might but honestly it looks better than I expected. Then again looks can be deceiving. You won't know till you drive it and inspect it.

Jesus, do people just buy complete shitboxes on here and everyone jumps to conclusions haha....the interior in my opinion is kind of weird, are those seat covers or is that actually the way they came from the factory?

It's like someone said earlier, we've heard and seen lot of horror stories with used modified cars and some even experienced it so everyone is very cautious. They're just trying to look out for you. The seats are a bit weird. I think the rears are original and the front have covers.

I don't see any negativity. You came here asking for feedback and that's what you're getting. With all due respect, it seems like you've made up your mind to buy the car and just don't like many of the answers your getting.

This forum is loaded with threads from people who where new to the S550 and bought a modded car that had issues and they regretted it. Many here are just trying to heed that warning.

This car may have been well built and cared for or beat to shit and dumped. To me a 2 owner doesn't mean anything. Especially since the last owner had it less than a year. But if you understand the risk, and have money set aside for repairs then go for it. Just don't be salty over the honest feedback you're getting. 👍🏻

One negative is the BBK exhaust and the car is from a huge street racing area
