The real question is not if the premium package is nice, clearly its nice, the question is is it worth the $6000 variance from the base I ordered and the GT premium I would end up getting. And thats for something that has absolutely no performance extra from the base I am getting, and infact would be slower because of all the added weight. For me the answer was hell no and I bought the base GT with auto and 3.55 gears and my car will be one of the fastest simply from weight savings alone. And I already have had custom leather made for my car prior to it even coming that is much much more superior to any Ford leather which is half vinyl. Mine is 100% leather including sides and back. The only other thing I want other than leather is a stereo. Easily done. 2 sets of speakers and an 8 inch sub. Total cost for everything? About 3000 less than a premium and higher quality everything and faster.
$6000??? Mine wasn't $6k more than a base GT.

Looking on Ford's web site they say $4k difference between base and premium, so I expect you are correct.

I do agree with Jason; I didn't think getting premium was worth it either.

I get x plan so base GT pp 33600 and premier GT pp 37200 before tax. I'm not buying a automatic cause I don't like boring rides in a fun car

After sitting in both trims I had no problem putting the premium out of my mind for good.

Im all about ease of use when it comes to taking my eyes off the road to look at the console. Everything can be activated faster and perhaps without even looking down with the base stack. I just know going into MFT just to change air conditioning vents would prove a huge PITA in the long haul. Why Ford does that is still strange to me.

The only thing I'm torn on is whether to leave the seats in cloth or get a dealer installed set of leathers. The base cloth seats are actually pretty amazing. Could've even passed for race seats 10 years ago

If I can score a nice set of Premium 19 or 20 inch wheels I may go base as well, I like simple. Not sure on auto or manual and I do not care for the black PP wheels but 2016 may have different offerings. I am still 12 months out from ordering so plenty of time.

It would be interesting to see if these really make a difference in the different conditions.

GT Premium only:
Selectable Drive Modes with 4-gang toggle switch
pack (Normal, Sport+, Track, Snow/Wet)

Normal mode delivers a balance of comfort and responsive handling for an engaging driving experience.

Sport+ mode provides more responsive steering and throttle response, plus different shift points if your Mustang is equipped with the SelectShift® automatic transmission. It’s great for more spirited driving on twisty roads.

Track mode, which is for track use only, allows skilled drivers to push the car closer to its limits on the track before AdvanceTrac® electronic stability control intervenes. It’s perfect for weekend track days and autocrosses because it lets you extract the absolute maximum from the vehicle.

Snow/Wet mode comes in handy when road conditions take a turn for the worse. It provides confident handling by retaining
a connected-to-the-road feel without sacrificing any of the inherent composure of your new Mustang.

For you people that have the different drive modes. How often do you really use all of them. And does that mean base model is in frame mode at all times. The only one I see us sing would be snow and frame that's it for me. I guess if me wife needs to drive it maybe I can see her using one of them other modes

I believe that car transports charge about $1/mile for door-to-door delivery, for uncovered transport. It's probably higher if a covered transport trailer is required.

I would say go definately go premium for daily driver. The base is ok but it seems like it was really intended for people on a tight budget or looking for a weekend toy. The upgraded premium interior has recieved high praise from evey single person who has been in my car and it is personally worth it to me just to have the 8inch screen and dual zone climate control

Excellent question. I use the drive modes often.

Normal - I use this on longer trips; cruising speeds

Sport - Most frequent used setting around town/spirited drives

Track - Plan to use at Summit Point next year but I use this setting when its just me on spirited drives. I made a rule to myself that I wont select this with friends/family in the car

Snow/Wet - Exactly what it says. Coming out of my neighborhood on a cold wet day that's a 50mph 2 lane busy road. Setting gives more confidence in conditions such as this ^

Okay went to the dealer today. Got to test drive a GT stage 2 roush!. It was badass the wife enjoyed as well.didnt change drive modes and didn't beat on it either. But this is all they have with manual. So he said lets go for a ride. I wasn't going to say no. Would you have??? I'm going with the leather and bigger screen. Ordering on Tuesday! But now I sat in one with the ceramic leather now I can't decide if I want that or black leather. It made the car look bigger on the inside.

I don't put the order in today because I went there in the wifes truck. So taking mine in for trade that's the only thing we have to finalize. Other than those two things the car will be coming soon
