Aside from the “keyboard warrior bro” throwing back punches to any of us asking questions - why can’t the vendor post up any pics of prototypes? Has a prototype been casted yet?
Everyone understands there is R&D and designs aren’t final - but at least people get to see an image of a real part that is work in progress….
Also this quote in your first post states:
The other question asked was were these installed into an S550 to test fitment and function? If so, then again why can’t the pics be published?
What sways people is there is a big difference between a photoshop/rendering and actual image of the part. Suppose someone pays for a pre-order based on the “photoshop” and then months later Vendor X finally releases the actual part that was not even close to the photoshop and the potential buyer who already paid doesn’t like it? Then what?
Many vendors on here such as BMR and Steeda have shared images of products where they have prototypes to get user input before final prod - and also to see if the price point is in line with what the market will bare…. It’s not an unreasonable question to ask of actual pics.
I don’t think any member’s questions on here were outlandish (including mine). I asked if you were getting a set without charge because you were doing all promoting of it. I don’t think that was an unfair question. If it were me in your shoes and I was asked the same, I wouldn’t get bent or offended, I’d just answer the question without coming at people with such a tone.
Every M6Ger response above has had legit concerns/questions, more so for as long as this thread has been up promoting the toggle quest…. I think you’re coming off at people in the wrong way - as no one has bashed you or in your terms was a “keyboard warrior” to you.
People were merely posting their concerns about the lack of real photos, the sudden increase in price point and wondering if what they are paying for will be what has been talked up as being identical toggles to the GT in appearance (or function)..
My question was a concern as well - the price jumped to $300 - but no warning to anyone it was jumping. Usually with a pre-order or Group Buy there are established dates that gives users a window to join and make the purchase. I didn’t see any dates proposed on here - it was $179 then $300…. There’s no explanation and no discussion as to how this toggle will function any differently than the stock toggle. Shape and back lighting is a given, but functionality is key. Are they softer when clicking them, are they firmer, do they move both up and down or only one way? Do they make a “click” noise when toggling or are they silent?
No one is asking whether the vendor is a great vendor, is a great guy or has other products that are great…. At no point has anyone even bad mouthed the vendor. The users are questioning the lack of responses and have additional questions about the product. The questions and concerns relate to ONLY this thread RE: toggle set that has been promoted for a very long time.
Since you’re the lead and promoting this toggle set, maybe a better approach would have been:
- To take users questions/concerns back to the vendor and get the answers to post here (it’s as easy as copying/pasting the questions and answers)
- Give an opt-in date range for the pre-order with a clear deadline for last possible opt in.
- Be transparent that the pre-order cost was going to jump to $XXX.XX BEFORE not after the pre-order closed. No where was this mentioned here on this site.
- Keep your cool even if there’s questions or statements you don’t like… After all, you did the leg work, you promoted it, AND you’re essentially the “representative” of the vendor even if you don’t see it that way….

So in that 25 mins, what’s it to spend 1 more minute to take some photos of the prototype?Swapping the switches is relatively easy and takes around 25 minutes if doing it for the first time.
