My son was just about to join the Army (miss him) and I let him take the new-to-me Mustang for a drive with me in the passenger seat. I'd only had it for a few days at the time and didn't even know how to use the different settings or take traction control off yet.

We were coming down a local two lane highway and my son saw the Camaro coming up. It was a guy and his lady, and the car was loud. I assume it was modified, but don't know the specifics.

As soon as he came to the light, I could hear that he had a manual and said the odds he gets a good launch are low. I told my son "Just floor it when the light turns green." It was still in Normal mode, trac control on and bone stock.

The Mustang hooked and the Camaro spun, and by the time he got it going he was 7-8 cars back. It was funny that my son got in the car's first drag race and beat me to it.

We got a kick out of it. :like:

And just after he shut it down, we saw a cop going the opposite way. Got lucky.

Stock for stock the LS Camaro (2010-2015) and the Gen2 Coyote are pretty close bone stock. Even if he was modified, on the street more powerful cars are routinely embarrassed where traction is at a premium. The 2016-up Camaros are definitely faster by a fair bit due to more power and much less weight in the Alpha platform though, so having a Gen3 Coyote or some mods is definitely a must when facing them.

Car for car, the Gen 6 Camaros are no joke.

Traction is a whole other conversation.

Sounds like you have an A10 against a manual Camaro. Even with a good driver, the manual will have a hard time against the A10 in straight line accel and smoking tires is just a waste of power with lack of forward progress.
